How do you get the engine on a 1997 v6 3.1 to come out after everything is unbolted?

Unbolt it from the head, unbolt it from the rest of the exhaust, and wiggle it until you can get it off. It will be hard to break loose.

if you can get oil pan off ,no you may have to unbolt motor mounts and lift engine up to get clearance.

Mopar 5W-30 is what the book will tell you. Any good name brand 5W-30 will work.

the oil pan must be removed, to do this you must disconnect the engine mounts and raise the engine off the mounts as far as poss, then u can unbolt and remove the oil pan, the oil pump is then assessable inside the engine

mark everything u discoencted unbolt the tranny ,lift engine out put new one in and conect everything were it belongs

remove radiatitor all wireing haness and unbolt moter mounts unbolt trans (if automatic unbolt converter) unhook exhaust,remove power steering pump altinater a leave on the fender wells,

Did you unbolt the shifter from inside?

Put a jack under the engine with a wood block on it and unbolt the bracket from the engine to the motor mount. Then jack up the motor.

You have to remove the radiator,it's best anyway as the radiator can be easily damaged when working on the front of the motor.

The recommended way is to unhook and unbolt every thing and support engine and transaxle in a cradle, then raise vehicle up until you can remove the engine/trans from underneath.
