How do I replace a serpentine belt by passing the air conditioner .... I am not adding a pulley I want to bypass it all together

Even if the belt did not rub against something by skipping a pulley, it would be almost impossible to know the right size belt to use.

Can you by pass a air conditioner conpresser in a 2005 Chrysler pacifica

the ac compressor pulley runs on it's own bearings and if you disconnect the electrics to the clutch the pulley will just be an idler and you won't need to change the belt

Ian,
There are two fans in a vehicle, One is in the engine compartment and is for the radiator. The other is in the passenger compartment and it runs the heater and air conditioner air flow from the plenum. The condenser is near the radiator and the evaporator is in the plenum. Condensers don't fail. Neither do evaporators. If the squeal is coming from the engine compartment when the air conditioner is turned on, the problem is either the belt to the COMPRESSOR or the CLUTCH on the compressor.

I need to buy a serpentine belt that will by pass the air conditioner. does Lincoln make one that size

They didn't make any 1999 Town cars without a/c. You can get a belt but I would suggest using a string to get the size and then go the auto parts store and have them match it.

Serpintine belt

if the ac is not working then if you leave it switched off there will be no need to get a special belt to by-pass it. The pulley on the ac compressor is just an idler pulley that only turns the compressor when there is current to the clutch in the pulley. IF you never use the ac the pulley just spins . The problem with special belts is if they fail (and they do ) it will be where/ when you cannot get a special belt but you will always get a proper belt from any spares store or garage.

When I start my car it squeals really loud and smells like a vaccuum belt is burning. it also overheats while sitting still unless the air conditioner is on and now won't pass emissions. what could be...

Your squeal sounds like you have a pulley frozen, or sticking, that the belt can't turn, and it will burn. You need to determine which pulley or idler pulley it is.
The cooling problem may be related (water pump) , or just a failing fan switch, or fan. See if you have two, as some vehicles have one, and a second for air conditioning.

The speed control for the air conditioner set on 5 does not work how do you change out the switch

It is more likely the blower motor resistor that is bad. Not 100 percent sure, but I think it is under the dash on the pass side right by th blower motor. If it is not there, check in the engine compartment on the pass side just below the windshield. Good Luck
