Simple...look at the shifter and you will see on the side a button. just push down or move forward then you can start the car and shift into gear.

Unless the lock cylinder is damaged, you should be able to turn the key from lock to unlock and shift out of park. The shift is locked in park and the on positions. Be careful that the car does not roll when you shift out of park with it not running.

2003 Ford Mustang won't shift out of park

Could be the brake switch, or the shift lock solenoid.
Both components would need to be tested. And you may be able to shift out of park if you try before you turn the key switch to the on position.

My chevy trailblazer wont shift from park to drive.

chances are the shift cable is broke at the transmission, I drilled the rod out of the shift lever and ran a shoulder bolt through the shift lever and cable end and finished up with a lock nut.

Shift stuck in park

if your car has a shift lock, put your foot firmly on the break, unlock the shift lock, put it into neutral, then start the car. be careful because the car will roll if you let go of the brake. hopefully you can shift into drive once the car is started. if not, other things it could be is the shift cable.
