Question about 1984 Oldsmobile Delta 88
Well Jean it sounds like you are moving along fairly well on your own but there is one thing you might want to consider and thats the rad itself. You don't mention how old the rad might be but check to make sure the fins are not bent and/or they are in good shape.Look to see if its a bug graveyard and airflow through the rad is not being restricted. You might also want to look at replacing the water punp(depending on age). You don't say if the coolant level is dropping at all.I will give you the same advice that I give all my auto students,1) buy yourself a good set of tools or the best you can afford 2) get hold of a real manual for this car if you can, that is ,a mechanics manual or dealer manual.3) continue to educate yourself by taking a night course or continuing education course.4) get to know your local auto supply store, they have a lot of information that can help you out.5) ask lots of questions and be patient. I am going to give you my E.mail address so you can contact me directly if you have any additional guestions and I'll have a look around the school next week to see if we have a manual kicking around for this car we don't need anymore.
