Spray some wd40 lubricant and gently wiggle key outwards, you may have to even wiggle steering wheel back and forth to extract the key. don't loose patience!! some times it takes several trys to do it. hope this helps!!

we have been trying for two days now and are truely running out of patience.
    Thank you for your advice

i understand!! just keep spraying the wd40 in switch and working it in and out and back like pulling it out in off position. you can always replace the switch, it's not that technical. you'll need to remove the covers to steering column to see the screws that hold the switch in, you can buyy a replacement switch at auto zone, if you need it you can buy a manual for your car there also and have step by step instructions on replacement. just in case.

Maintenance required on dash board how can i reset it please help

    • 1

Sit inside the driver's seat of the Honda Accord and close the driver's side door. Any interior lights on can prevent the maintenance required light from resetting properly on some year models.

    • 2

Insert the key in the ignition.

    • 3

Depress the odometer/trip button located beneath the odometer on the instrument panel. Hold the button down.

    • 4

Turn the ignition key two clicks forward to the accessory power position. This is also known as the key-on/engine-off position.

    • 5

Continue to hold down the odometer/trip button for up to 15 seconds until the maintenance required light goes out. On some Accord models, the maintenance required light may blink once before going out.

    • 6

Release the odometer/trip button and then turn the ignition key to the off position.

    • 7

Start the Honda Accord to ensure the maintenance required light is no longer illuminated on the instrument panel. If it still is, the reset procedure did not take and you'll need to repeat the procedure.

How do I reset the maintenance required light after general servicing has been done for Honda Accord 2004

On my 99 accord I start with the key in the off position. Hold down the Select/Reset button on the dash panel near the gauges. While holding the button, turn the key to the on position (not starting the car) and wait about 5-10 seconds and it will turn off. You may then release the button and turn the car back to the off position.

Key is stuck in ignition and wont release. 1999 Honda Accord. Key stuck in accessory mode.

If your car is auto, there should be a cable going from the shifter to the ignition to stop you being able to remove the key unless the car is in park. If the cable has become dislodged or broken your key won't come out. I would remove the shrouds around the column and have a look at the back of the ignition while moving the ahifter in and out of park. If your car is manual , I would suspect a bent key or a contaminated lock ( not common in a car this age ) Try Graphite powder, ( messy but effective ) it should be avaliable from your hardware store. Good Luck!

2006 honda accord: key stuck in ACC position. won't turn to O position to remove from ignition. car starts fine and is in park.

The same thing happened to my 2003 Honda Accord...took it to the dealership, and they had to replace my shift lever entirely. Something about the cable between the ignition and shift lever not being read correctly...(basically, my car is not reading that it's actually in park and therefore won't release the key)....

2000 honda accord sedan.Had a key made. Key stuck. Didn't know they had a chip in them. Can I get key we had made out WITHOUT going to dealer? Dealer wants $400 to $500 to fix it.

is the key still stuck in the ignition? This happened on my 99 accord. I just had my MAGLITE flashlight and hit the end of the key inward and it was able to get loose and pull out. Hope this helps. Thanks
