I don't know if this fixes your problem or not but mine is doing the same thing. they said to have both keys. take the first one and turn the car on but don't start it. leave it on for ten seconds and then take out and insert the second key. and do same thing. take second key back out and insert first key ten seconds after removing the second key and then try starting the car.

Mazda 6 Sport.recently changed batteries & Key doesn't always work;car start, open or lock doors. Red key light sometimes comes on? Any ideas?

use a scan tool to reset the ECM program as the battery removal may have corrupted the CPU program for all that you mention
if you changed the fob key battery ,it may be necessary to reprogram the key to the immobilizer.

I changed my car battery, now my 2008 Nissan Altima key fob won't work

There is a special procedure involved in keying your fob to your car once the battery has been changed. You must lock and open the door with your key. Turn the ignition to "on"(not start) then push the fob's open and close button, then shut off ignition. This procedure is done everything the key battery is changed. Hope this can help you!

2008 Mazda 5 key fob battery changed and it still won't work. how do i fix it?

I have taken a GM key FOB apart before and found a bad soldered connection. If that doesn't work, people sell them on Ebay all the time, look up how to program on the web and reprogram it to match your vehicle.

Key fob lights up but doesn't work even with a new battery

I'm more familiar with Range Rovers and Saab's when it comes to key fobs but if you changed the battery you have to re-program the key fob. If you do not have an owner's manual that can take you through the steps you might want to try: push and hold the lock button on the key fob, put it in the driver's side door and turn to lock. With the button still depressed turn back to open, remove the key and release the button. If this doesn't work check any and all fuses associated with your system and last but not least you could take it to a dealer. Good luck!
