Question about 2007 GMC Sierra 1500

1 Answer

I have a 2007 GMC Sierra p/u with the 4.3 motor. Engine light came on a few days ago. No code is on the drivers display. I checked the gas cap, is okay. I put in about 1/2 tank of another brand (Shell) gas to dilute what may be in the gas. Any suggestions? Truck runs great. Light comes on with the key in the on position and when all the other tattle tale lights go out, this one stays on, without the motor running. Is there a reset for this, or is there a problem? Thank you.

SOURCE: auxiliary gas tank for a 2007 gmc sierra

go to jcwhitney they have a full line of replacement and auxiliary fuel tanks, as well has the selector valve that switch's from one tank to the other and this does the switching of fuel gauges as well, just go to jcwhitney.com or call em at 1-800-529-4486 and you may have to call em as its a 2007 may not be listed yet, check with your dealer and see if 06 is the same just in case, but with the 08s coming out already they should have it in stock, also check summitracing.com, they have a full line as well or call them at 1-800-230-3030

SOURCE: 2007 gmc sierra 2500 IAT sensor

Well, the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor is located on the air intake duct between the filter and the throttle body (Assuming you have the 6L motor). The wires are easily visible at the plug that connects the sensor to the wiring harness. That's the easiest place to access them.

SOURCE: low oil when engine warms up gmc sierra 1995

30-40 psi of oil pressure is fine for many vehicles including your GMC. I am assuming that the truck has more than 100,000 miles on it and still has the original engine in it. By rule of thumb you only need 10 psi per 1000 rpms in a typical street driven engine to give adequate oil pressure to keep the bearings from oil starvation. The oil pressure is typically higher when initial start up occurs because it is more viscous due to the temperature of the oil as the engines oil warms up the visconsity thins out and the oil flows more smoothly. The drop in oil pressure is a normal occurance. Above 45 is more than required for a daily driven street engine. I believe that the specs on that engine only list 30- 45 psi.

May want to look at replacing the wiper circuit board. It is located on the firewall adjacent to the wiper motor and has a some what square black cover with 3 torx screws and wireing harness pluged into the side.We had a truck that every time you washed it the wipers would stay on until it dryed out.You can try removing it and spaying it down with contact cleaner just watch the brease on the two contact tips.Well hope this helps.

My check engine light came on. Just a couple of days ago the digital display said my gas cap need tightening. I twisted it but did not remove it and then put it back on. I was told that if the gas cap...

yes it could ! this is part of the emission system on todays vehicles. if your sure you do not have a hole in a emission hose. just replace cap, the seal may be bad on cap. then drive it. light should go out if this is the only problem. good-day ! check all lines and hoses in system. remove cap completely and replace it. this may fix problem.

The first step in any check engine light is to get the compuetr scanned for codes. there are many auto part stores that will scan the codes for free and give you a printout with the codes, if you get the codes i can help you find the problem bettter. good day.

2007 GMC Envoy - Gas gauge showing empty and check engine light

This is a safety feature that the vehicle brings. You need to reset the E.C.U on dealership or it will keep doing it to you. It was probably caused by one single time that you did not closed the fuel cap correctly. Good luck

Got oil cahnged and now change oil soon light is on. How do you reset? 2007 GMC Sierra 1500

Turn the ignition on and within a few seconds slowly pump the gas pedal three times. A message displaying "oil life reset" should show up in the drivers information center. If you have the "newer" driver information center look for an "i" button and scroll through it until you see "oil life **%" displayed. At that point press and hold the reset button until it resets to 100%. Should take about 10 seconds of holding the button.

There should be instructions on how to reset it in the owners manual if this doesn't help. Good luck.
