Question about 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix

1 Answer

I am getting a whinning noise out of the front end usually when I make a left turn. It is not as noticable when the car is cold. It stops after about 5-10 miles per hour. It usually is there when I am just starting out. I am not having any shifting or steering issues. Just the noise.

Have whinning noise when turning right or slowing down sounds like a power steering noise in rear end

A whinning noise while turning is an indication of a worn bearing. The extra pressure put against the bearing/race during the turn and the closing of a gap creates this noise.I would chech the axle bearings on the side of the truck on the outside the curve when you hear it. What I'm saying is if you hear it when you turn left....check the right side bearing

Have the brake pads checked, if they are ok you may have a faulty wheel bearing.

Whirring noise in the front-end of a 2000 Cirrus

it does sound like wheel bearing a cv joint dont make noise and then stop but you can jack the car up and in neutral try to shake the tire from side to side.to see if you have any play then turn the wheel by hand try to feel for roughness in bearing. let me know what you find. Phil.

Power train, transmission questions.

Get ready for a overhaul. Ask the transmission companies and they will tell you that us Dodge owners are their best customers. Your torque converter is getting toasted. You have about 10k before it goes. Sorry for the news. Got mine done and now at 213, ooo so it was worth 1700 to get it fixed. got an extra 60 k and going strong.
