Repair or replace broken sun visor hook

Hello Ruth,

Wow.. there's a HUGE amount of internet "CHATTER"
on this topic...!!

For your INTERNET SEARCH you want to use
"2007 OEM Hyundai sun-visor clip" ... about $9.
(available on eBay... in colors)

$19 on Amazon (see below)

>> Immediately call a couple of dealer parts houses
to see if they still have them in stock... Buy a couple!!

Else ...
you are going to be calling auto-salvage to get the part... and if it is EASILY BROKEN... they will be scarce...
(term: "junking").

I have had great success finding odd parts on eBay
(but I like old cars... and this "PROCESS" comes with the territory

Good luck.

My 2006 Hyundai Sonata driver side power seat reclined back but I can't get it to recline back up. I can't drive safely like that. The sunvisor will not stay up, it keep falling down when I drive.

the switch in the drivers seat is bad. very common. if you had access to some good jumper wires you could jump across the motor circuit and make the seat go up but you would have to be a good " doityourselfer" . that switch isn't hard to replace though. you will also need a new sunvisor. it should be held up with two screws that are hidden by a plastic trim piece.

Left sunvisor broke Hyundai Elanta 2000 model

eBay or junkyards will be your source for a replacement, too old to be a dealer item. these days you can find many junkyards online and you can even search their inventories. i would go with an eBay scrapper though as they will show you a picture first so you know you are getting a matching color.

Passenger window fails to go up the last 1/4 inch. How do I remove the interior door panel and what am I looking for? Michael

Hello Michael. I am surprised that your window continued to work well as long as it has. Most haven't. This is a common issue with 1999-2002 Sonatas. You'll either need to replace the regulator upper holder or the regulator itself.

Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 02-80-001 provides very nice details for replacing either the regulator upper holder or the regulator itself. You can view the TSB at www.hmaservice.com (requires Internet Explorer) by signing up for a free account.

The part numbers are as follows:

left front holder: 82430-38000
right front holder: 82440-38000
left front regulator: 82403-38011
right front regulator: 82404-38011.

I copied the part numbers from the TSB. If memory serves, the regulator numbers ending in -38011 may have superseded to numbers ending in -38012.

Regards, Joe PS please rate my answer. Thank you Michael and happy holidays.

Sun visor on driver's side won't stay up or all the way down. 2006 Sonata the sunvisor will not stay up or all the way down. It just flaps back and forth, I have to put double sided tape on it for it to...

If under 60,000 miles, take it to the dealer for replacement - free of charge. Both sun visors on my 2006 Hyundai Sonata did the same thing and had them both replaced, but now out of warranty and driver's side has done it again so I'll have to pay to have it fixed. Looking for a used one online now. I guess this is just a defect in that particular model.
