I have a 1996 maxima with stock radio. The radio and everything works fine but the screen is dead. Is there a way to fix it without buying a new radio? Also my antenna wont go down. I hear the motor but it...

No fix for that screen , too costly and cheaper to purchase a new one. The cable inside the antenna is broken . Wrecking yard fix but check it prior to purchase.

When I turn off the ignition on my 2001 Tahoe the amp continues to pull power. It does not turn off. In a couple of days it will drain the battery. To stop it I pulled the fuse. How do I properly fix it....

In order to answer this, it is necessary to know whether your Tahoe is equipped with the luxury sound system, the premium radio, or the sound system with rear seat audio.

well i guess it all depends on if it fits? u can put most any radio and speakers into a car and it fits and all the wires match up, but u also have to have the right connection, and if ur not sure how to put it in i would suggjest just going to a automobile shop or car dealer near you. I have a problem with my car radio , for some reason i cant find any radio stations , but CD work good . Please let me know how to fix this problem .all parts are original from beginning.

there could be a couple of issues 1 the antenna itself is broken 2 the antenna wire has gone bad or 3 the antenna input on the radio is bad these are the only real things that control the radio function i hope this helps

How do you fix the radio "i can not hear anything

Make sure the antenna is up and not broken, some of these have the power antenna and some dont, if the antenna is up then you will need to check the cable that connects to back off the radio but i doubt thats the problem unless someone was working in that area of the dash, the most common problem is the antenna is broken or not up. good luck.

I just need to know how to remove the factory radio from a 2001 chevy tahoe

did this recently on a 2004 Tahoe. Yours is probably the same. Set the brake and put the shifter in low. Tilt the steering wheel all the way down, if it tilts. Grab the instrument panel bezel with your fingers/fingernails and pull straight out. There are spring loaded clips all around from the left end of the dash to just past the radio. Once it is free from all clips, tilt the top down toward the steering wheel to slip it out. Then you will see 3 screws holding the radio in. There are 2 connectors on the back, plus the antenna wire to pull out. Let me know if yours is different or if you have any questions.

Poor reception

Usually has to do with the antenna. Could be broken or loose whip, shield is broken underneath base. If the antenna checks out then you may need to have the radio calibrated or replaced.

2001 Expeditions don't have a conventional antenna. It's built into the windows. Unless its broken, you'll not need to install a new one. There is a conventional antenna coax cable with plug in the dash that will plug into your new stereo's antenna socket. That should do it.

If its broken, look for a scratch on your glass that breaks on of those conducting tracks, like rear window defrosters, and use a repair kit to fix it.

Hope this helps.
