Question about 1997 Mercury Sable
After I had driven my 1997 mercury sable to its destination it would not start after I had return to restart it. The battery was charged, their was fuel in the vehicle, however when I turned the ignition on all the electricals worked except the the car starter no sound of it engaing or disengaging. Wen I let it sit for awhile it started right up. But when I drove it got back home I tried to start it and it wouldn't start again. Could I have a module problem or a catilytic control problem..
This kind of cars have coming problems with the ignition switch going bad, try to remove the covers arround the steering column and check the ignition switch located on the buttom side of steering column for possible loose body, if loose replace it, but also make sure if you have any aftermarket alarm and if does have it remove for some one since it may afect the starter circuit, also check your batterie conectors for good contact and tie and clean very well
