Question about Buick Park Avenue

2 Answers

I have a 2000 Ultra - I have LOUD CLUNKING noise coming from in front of the driver's side rear tire. I get when I go over bumps. Many mechanics have told me it is probably a broken sway bar, but I had those checked and they are fine. I had the air shock replaced but I still have that noices afterwards. What suspension part is broken? It is sounds like some part is no longer riding in its socket or the rubber for it is missing. Help!

Could be the shock mounts. They are usually plastic and can make clunking noises.

Did you check your spare tire? Sometimes either it was not tightened down properly or the jack or handle works loose. Since you can't tell where the clunking sound is coming from, you need to start with the basics to zero in on the problem. You might to want to take everything out of your trunk and see if the problem goes away.

I have a mercedes 2004 e500 when i drive and hit the slightest bump in the road there is a clunking noise coming from drivers side front

Hello, that could be one of several things. It could be a worn out bushing, sway bar link, or your strut assembly itself. With the nose of the car raised off the ground, wiggle the front tires. If there is excessive wobble it is likely to be one of the suspension components.
