Engine loses throttle responce

Going into limp mode by the sounds of it.check the lights on the dash for a yellow one when it happens.that is usually the engine management light.it may be you have an electronic gas pedal because the classic sign is when idling this light comes on.simple cure.with the engine turned off press the gas pedal fully up and down hard 6-10 times.this frees up the mechanism in some cases.restart and see if it has put things to rights.if not you need someone to run the OD diagnostics to see what error codes are stored in the ecu.most garages will do this free but dealerships always charge.

Cheque for disconnected vacuum hoses. sometimes this happen after working around the engine, if everything looks good, start the engine press down the accelerator pedal keep the engine running about 2500 rpm for 3 minutes then let the engine idle, if the engine idle this means you need a new idle speed control motor, if the engine still dies most probable the fuel pump it's going out if you have a code reader it's possible you have some codes and this can give a good direction

throttle position switch sounds like getting false readings to computer,
incorrect volts or excessive play from the throttle plate or sensor causes this, has to be one or the other, also check for any intake leaks from the filter to the throttle body, good luck,Gary

Idles but won't accelerate

Hello
The engine and transmission in this cars drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL THE DIAGNOSIS & TESTING IS COMPLETED.

2002 ford explorer won't start unless you push gas pedal down. Check engine light has come on. Shouldn't have to use gas pedal to start. What could cause this.

You need to have computer diag. done, to see why the engine light is on, any auto parts will do this for free, get back with us with the trouble code number, so we can help you diag. your trouble code.

Check engine light on car dies when I touch brake

Check Engine light is on. Find out what DTC (diagnostic trouble code) is set and I can help you more. You can get a code puller from your local parts store.

NO POWER WHEN PUSHING GAS PEDAL

Only way to know whats going on is to retrieve the trouble code for the check engine light by using a OBD II diagnostic's tool, it's likely the poor hesitation in the vehicle's acceleration is causing the check engine light to appear, the OBD II diagnostic tool plugs into a data link connector under the driver's side dash, you can buy one at most auto parts store's, or if you don't want to buy one some auto parts store's will do a autoscan of your vehicle at no cost.

1993 (2.0l 4 cyl) Ford Probe Wont Idle when warm.

Josh, Did you output the car's diagnostic codes before you reset the computer?
Just to confirm: your car has the "FS" engine - 1991cc double overhead cams?
built on the Mazda "GE" platform?
does your car have an "engine check light" or "MIL" on the dashboard? if so where and what does it look like and what does do ? ie: comes on when ignition is turned on & goes out after engine starts. or comes & goes out after x seconds. etc etc
are you 5sp manual or auto trans?

does your car have a diagnostic plug with a flip open lid just behind the battery near the front left suspension tower?

Check Engine light goes on and off

run a trouble code test to see what part is causing the check engine light to flash. I would lay my money on an O2 sensor.
