What part controls switching air/heat from defrost to bi-level to floor & where is it located?

In the attached drawing, Part 32 moves Part 26 to direct the air flow to the desired locations. It uses vacuum to operate. The actuator may be bad or the vacuum hose my have come loose when the heater core was changed. With the car running but the blower off stick your head up under the dash on the passenger side and see if you hear a hissing sound. If so it's probably just a vacuum hose come off.

Ac only works for heat

Perform a self test on heater control head if it's electronic,... push floor and off button at the same time with key on, release, then press the auto button one time. This puts control head into self test. If you hear a clicking noise from your glove box area, probably a bad temperature blend door, also it will show a code on control head screen.post code here or Google it. Hope that helps. . No heat but blows cold air

Sound like 1 of a few things. The easiest is air in the cooling system. Bleed it and while car is idling and heat is on full blast. (another posibility is head gasket gone bad)

The car was overheating and shutting off I changed the thermostat, water pump, lower radiator hose, and it still over heated so we ran a pressure check and it was good so we checked the lower intake gasket...

Something has gone awry with the flow in your system. When the car is cold (please make sure it is really cold), remove the radiator cap. If it doesn't have one and the only fill place is the water capture bottle, remove the top radiator hose and prop it up. Crank the car and let it idle. As it gets warmer, look to see whether there is any flow or activity. There should be plenty of movement. On a car where you have to remove the radiator hose to look at this, the water will spit out. BE CAREFUL OF BURNS. (If/when it does, shut the car off immediately.

I don't know whether you've had a flush done, but if you did a pressure test, they probably checked this too. If not, check for that flow. If you're not getting heat in the heator core, that is but one more clue that flow is impeded.

Oily foam in rocker cover breather pipe

if it has been over heated, problem is head gasket... When it's cold, remove the radiator filler cap.... watch for bubbles, and look for heavy sweet smelling exhaust (this is not always typical). You also may just have alot of blowbye oil.... especially considering the mileage... i would recommend a quality remanufactured long block

OVER HEATS

Fill over flow bottle right to the top and run engine....watch for bubbles.
If you see bubbles you may have a bad head gasket or a possibly a cracked head.

This allows combustion gases into the cooling system and the system just can't dump that amount of added heat.

No heat. Fan blows cold air.

I think u may have an air temperature control blend door problem, the door is moved by a small electric motor, it is stuck in the cold position.

2002 ford taurus won't start at first crank in the morning

remove the air filter housing from the throttle body, or if its mult-ported injection, remove the large air duct. Do this the night before. The next day, before cranking and having a spray can of carb. cleaner, spray a couple of shots of carb cleaner either into the large air duct, spray towards the engine, or if its single body injection, spray directly on to the throttle body.

Crank engine immediately, preferrably have some one else sitting in the car to start it after you spray.

If the car even tries to start, replace cold start relay.

Heat problem

Hi cakes32,

Seems that someone, somewhere may have forgotten to connect control cables, which operate the valve which controls the flow of coolant from the engine to the interior unit of the heater....The heater and the air conditioner, are separate, different units....They share a common housing, but have little to do with each other.....

Take it back to the body shop and tell them to check.

Besrt regards Johngee10
