Well without hearing it its difficult to say but a new timing chain adjuster will help ,if it is the timing chain then just a new adjuster will cure it but it could be the cam followers its difficult to point you in the right direction without hearing it myself then i could tell you exactly ,ask a local mechanic for his opinion first before you start playing with it though

What is the mileage to replace timing chain on 2001 Surburban with 5.3 l engine

Timing chains usually last the lifetime of the engine, unlike belts. If noisy, change it otherwise if it seems OK and the engine has been serviced regularly, leave alone.

What can be the problem as to why my time chain lite is on?

Is there high mileage on the vehicle? Do you hear slapping noise or vibration at the timing chain cover. It may be that the chain has stretched. Get a trouble code scan at Auto Zone or Advance Auto and see what codes come up. The codes will give a better idea of what's going on with engine.

Once you have the codes, you can do a web search for them to get more information about the codes.

Timing chain replacement nterval

timing changes change is indicated by a rattly noise from the from of the engine. Most have a hydraulic adjuster that keeps the chain tight and if you do regular oil changes with quality oil then the requirement to change the chain would pass 200.000klm or about 180.000miles depending on your driving habits and what rpms you push the engine to

How do i change the timing belt on a nissan altima 2001

A Nissan ultima does not have a timing belt,it has a timing chain, look up in your manual for your maintenance schedules when and at what mileage you are needed to change the chain, usually the chain is changed when it is loose through stretching in wear over mileage,a very loose chain has a rattling noise in the engine compartment by the cam gears, good luck ,hope that I was helpful.

2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara cranks but won't start

Most likely your timing chain.
This is a major problem 99 -05 V6 GV.
The Timing chain tensioner failed.
When the chain breaks it destroys the engine.
Unfortunately is an "Interference" engine.
This and the rear main seal are the big problems with these cars.
