Hi my 02 avensis verso totally loses power when hot going up a hill or incline..really embarrising...cleaned ecg valve any other ideas

Hi,
The air filter can sometimes be a good place to start, as a slightly blocked/dirty/damaged one can give the car near normal operation on flat roads but when going uphill make it slow right down.

would suggest you try that first. If that doesn't work it could be a faulty/blocked fuel filter or dodgy turbo or slipping clutch or air/fuel mix issue (faulty sensor).

Is there a way to clean the egr valve on a 2003 nissan frontieer? if so, how do i clean it ?

Back in the Stone Age, we used to pull it, do a scrub-and-rinse with a little gasoline, and pop it back in. BUT if yours has an electric lead/wire, then you probably need a new one.

Ecg module where does it go and what does it do?

ECG module ? Wrong !!!! It's called a ECM - electronic control module if it's for the engine , an then it would also have a separate module called a TCM - transmision control module . If they are both together it's called a PCM - powertrain control module . Boy you really need to learn your parts , or take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop . Any GM dealer will do Chevy , Buick , Cadillac , GMC .
ERG ????? EGR valve - exhaust gas recirculation . emissions ! You really need to take it to a qualified repair shop , before you hurt yourself ! Some people just don't have what it takes too fix cars .

Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is a computer , uses inputs from engine sensors to manage fuel deliver an ignition spark for the spark plugs .
It is the control center of the fuel injection system and constantly looks at the information from various sensors and controls the systems that affect vehicle performance. It controls the following items:
• Fuel metering system.
• Transaxle shifting.
• Ignition timing.
• On-board diagnostics for Powertrain functions.
It constantly looks at the information from various sensors, and controls the systems that affect vehicle performance. The PCM also performs the diagnostic function of the system. It can recognize operational problems, alert the driver through the MIL (Service Engine Soon), and store diagnostic trouble codes which identify the problem areas to aid the technician in making repairs. Refer to Introduction in Section 6E in for more information on using the diagnostic function of the PCM.
An the computer has nothing to do with the starter starting . Do you know what a park neutral safety switch is ?

You may clean it(might or might not work), but it will be only a temporary fix. It's recommended to replace the unit as in a short time it will fail again. Hopefully this helped
