First you must turn your wheel so you can access the inner fenderwell. Small hands will work best to access the bulbs.
There are 2 "plugs" or "grommets" and 1 screw and washer on the inside fender well.
These need to be removed. A 7mm socket works well for the "screw" (for lack of a better word--its not actually a phillips or regular screw head, but the socket will remove it easily). Use pliers or something else to loosen the grommets, or have new ones on hand and just cut these off.
Now that you have these off, pull the inner well plastic down just far enough to reach in and grasp the bulb. Turn the bulb left to free it from the housing. Replace with new bulb. Turn bulb to the right to tighten in housing. put the crew and washer back in and the grommet. You are done:-)

How do you access the headlights on a 2008 chevy hhr I need to change them.

Most Chevy headlights are held in place by three 10 mm you remove all 3, you can lift the headlight assembly forward and expose the headlight sure to use bulb lubricant when installing the new bulbs, also wear gloves so you do not touch (harmful hand grease) the new bulb filaments...our normal hand grease can cause shorter bulb life. Hope this helps.

How do you change a headlight bulb on a hhr

The procedure is in the owners manual, but it is not easy. You need to turn the wheels in (to right for drivers side) and then shut car off. Then you will need to loosen the inside front wheel well, which is plastic, until you can bend it out of the way enough to reach inside to the bulb. The bulb twists out with a 1/4 turn to the left and then unplugs. Just a hint, make sure that the gasket comes out with the bulb and that you only use one when you reinstall the new bulb. If you need to replace the fog lights, that bulb is replaced the same way.

How do I change a headlight bulb in a 2006 HHR? I can't find any access point. It's on the driver's side. It looks like I might have to remove the whole fender liner. I hope there's an easier way. Please...

Removing part of the liner is the only way to get it done. GOTTA LOVE ENGINEERING!

Be glad it's not a new Malibu the whole front fascia has to be removed.

How do i fix 2006 chevy hhr headlight

Access to change the headlamp bulbs is through the wheel well. The recommended method is to remove the front tire and then the plastic inner fender liner. Once removed, you'll have easy (more or less) access to the rear of the headlamp housing.

Turn your wheels in on the side that you are replacing, remove the two locking pins at the bottom side of the wheel well liner, pull the liner back and reach in to turn the bulb socket.
