If this happens on and off while driving, then you are low on coolant. The system needs purged. Fill the resevoir, Let it warm up to operating temperture. turn it off, let it cool down some. check and fill as necessary. Keep check on it for a couple of days.

2000 ford taurus heater not working correctly

Thermostat issue. Replace it. Not properly regulating coolant temps - affects heater temps.

The blower motor heater is not working properly on my 2003 Ford Taurus SEL. works after car has been running and is in motion for about 5-7 min. Does it need replacement? Have not taken in for service...

Assuming the blower blows but cold air for the first few minutes, its not terribly unusual. The engine needs to warm up before it can provide warm air for the cabin.

That said, if its not been serviced for some time, it could probably do with a coolant change/check. Getting the thermostat checked at the same time.

The heater in my 2002 Fort Taurus only works for a few seconds then blows cold air. If i turn the heater off and wait a few minutes, it blows a few seconds of warm air when I turn the heater back on. Any...

Check to make sure your coolant is full. If it is carefully feel both of the hoses near the firewall that go to the heater core. Be careful the exhaust is right there and its HOT.
With the heater on both hoes should be about the same, if one is colder than the other you heater core is partially clogged and will need to be replaced or a shut off valve in the hose is not opening properly. I use a infrared digital thermometer so I don't have to reach in to check the temps.
Good luck

The heater stoped working, it will blow out some hot air but then it goes cold after a minute.

it could be one of 2 things. 1. your thermostat is stuck open. 2. your blower motor isnt working. it sounds more like the thermostat

2000 Ford Taurus heater blows cold air ? i have check the herter core its good and blower motor works great coolant works and is good !

this problem is caused by a part called the "temperature control blend door actuater motor" this litttle motor drive moves the door that diverts air over the heater core or AC evaporator core, when it fails it almost alwys fails in the AC only position, u will need to have the motor drive replaced

2000 ford taurs a/c dont work it blows cold when i power up the compressor.its running 45 lbs on my gage on the low side.

Perform the following basic Checks and Information
1. Check Drive Belts,If belt is intact proceed to the next step.
2. Check for Compressor Clutch Engagement - Turn the air conditioner to the "on" position and set controls to the coldest setting. Start the engine and allow to idle. Then open the hood and inspect the clutch at the front of the compressor, is it turning? "Engaged" if so, the system has enough refrigerant to activate. If the system is low on refrigerant it will not work properly. In this case an air conditioner recharge kit is needed to recharge the system. If the compressor clutch is not turning proceed to next step.
3. Inspect for Refrigerant Leaks
4. Check under dash panel and under hood power distribution center
5. Check Temperature Control Vents - The vents inside your car are controlled by a cable, electrical servo or vacuum servo. If the vent door is not functioning properly it will cause warm air from the heater to exit the vents. To check this start the car and allow the engine idle, next turn the blower motor speed on low, switch the temperature control from warm to cold while your ear is close to the vents. You should hear the door move inside the heater box as it swings from open to close. If not, inspect for a vacuum leak or a shorted motor in the servo, repair the leak or replace the servo motor.

Ford taurus Wagon 2001 heater problem

Check your coolant level. If the antifreeze is low the water pump may not be able to pump enough of the coolant through your heater core. When the car runs faster it is able to pump more of the warm antifreeze to the heater core.
