Question about 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country

1 Answer

I bought new speakers, amp, and sub for my Jeep, and now my deck says protect and nothing plays. I was wondering if that was a blown fuse or what and if so how do I know which fuse to look at?

My sound stopped working except the sub and amp.

If you have a little electronic know how... it can be a blown capacitor in the speaker. If you find it, solder a new one in and turn the volume down in the future. And look around for any signs of burnt insulation. Trunk amps are notorious for being insufficiently wired for power.

Recheck your connections from deck to "non-sub" speakers. Are you using an adapter from deck to vehicle wiring harness OR are all wires individually connected?

I have wired up my kicker ds 65 (two of them) they were playing now they don't ..what's wrong with them??

Does your amplifier power light come on? Is the amplifier Protect light on? If the Protect light is on, there is either a shorted wire or an internal fault with the amp. Else check your wires inside and outside the sub box/speaker box and check for resistance across your sub terminals to check for blown subs/speakers.

I bought a sony deck to replace the bose stock deck on my 1996 nissan maxima. I purchased the wiring harness and antena adapter also. I hooked everything up right and getting power but im not getting no...

each speaker in your car runs the wiring thru an amp. So each spkear has its own amp for the bose system. You can not hook up a none bose radio If you do you will need to run new wires and replace all the speakers. Sorry.

HELP! PLEASE FAST

you can disconnect the sub from the car and test it to see if its blown by hooking it up to a regular house stereo. depending on what type of sub u have not all of them have protective fuses to shut it down before it blows. i always reccomend having more wattage on your speakers than your amp to add as a failsafe.

Check ALL the ground wires. Did you use a fuse block power source for the subs?
