Question about 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK

1 Answer

MY CLK 320 would honk when i start to move

It is random. Not always. It can make the prolonging honk for either going forward or backward. It would stop after driving 1 - 2 minutes.

Generally it involves steering wheel. I tried sharp turn vs straight movement, i could not duplicate the next time. It is an emberasing sound. As if I am steeling the car. The horn goes wild for 1-2 minutes. It goes off after I ignore and keep moving.

It could be your timing or alternator belt--They may dried a bit so i suggest to check this.if u mean the steering wheel hong so it's probably a cable touch problem every time u moving your car

Passenger power seat on my 2002 CLK will move forward only and not backwards, how do I get it to work ?

Wiggle the switch that controls the problem movement, if the seats moves or jitters a little the switch is defective and will solve the problem. If nothing happens when you do this simple test then go under the seat and probe the large wiring connector the power seat transmission, when you move the switch to rear seat travel position and see if any of the wires light up, if it does show voltage when the switch is toggled then the seat transmission may be at fault. I think you have a switch problem based on my expereinces but do the testing because the part is not cheap.

Is there a proper way to jump start my 1999 Mercedez CLK 320?

When jump starting any vehicle always hook up the positive to the battery first and then hook the ground(black) lead to some metal surface on the engine. This way you do not throw sparks near the battery.

Hi everyone I own a CLK200 Kompressor 2002 model. I have the following problem, driver seat moving forward when pressing backward function on the power seat button. I already checked the fuse in the trunk...

First try as fallow, get in to the seat, then keep tight your foot on floor and give a good press backward to the seat and operate the seat switch towards back, just release and do it again keep going that way it will start to move back words, if it start to move do it few time and do it every time you get in to the car at least two time per day continue it for one week, It will be OK otherwise need chassis no for more information,

I have a 1998 clk230 .The drivers seat control button will only move seat forward when presed for backward.consequently the only way to get the seat to go backward is to press the memory button .

You may need to run the seat all the way forward then all the way backwards in order to resyncronize the seat. If that doesn't fix the problem then most likely the seat switch is faulty. I've seen this problem several times with the clk and the e-class.

Can I use a 3amp smart charger (new) on a 2003 CLK

I would suggest directly to battery, but any charger will work. Just make sure it cycles before leaving it (on and off). A timer on the switch might be a good idea just in case.
