Question about 1989 Suzuki Sidekick

My 1989 1.6 sidekick after cranking and cranking it will sputter and then finally clean up and run,after shuting it off it repeats the samething hot or cold.

Pull the spark plugs and inspect the color, if any are light color yu are getting coolant into the combustion chamber,

ever get a full 60,000 mile tuneup,
this decade?
guessing wont work replacing good parts.
This is the G16a engine, (8valve head)
The car is known for.
1: timing belt slips after 60,000 miles, its needs to be not ignored, or it will spit, sputter and misfire grossly.
2: new cap, new rotor, new hv wires, 1by1 do not mix order. new filters, new timing belt.
that is a 60k mile.
3: in the 89 the distrib, VR ignitors like to fail.
(inside distrib)
4: at timing belt change, the valve lash is set.
if ignored, kiss off valves, as they burn up.

Fuel pressure

my guess, is this is a question?
my second guess, is you want to know what it is under all conditions?
easy. (the fsm, or alldata dot com ) shows that or here.
btw, the 90 , the pump only runs cranking or running never does do that key on only. (rule 1)

short answer is:
1989/90 = 34.1 to 39.8 PSI. Keyon cranking and idling.

1989 Ford Bronco. When I hooked up my battery I can hear the high pressure fuel pump running even though the key is turned off. I can start the truck up and it will run for a while. I took it for a spin...

if the key is off and the fuel pump still running then the fuel shut off switch and or the fuel pump is bad and needs replaced. More than likely the fuel pump might need to be replaced. (my 86 5.0 did the samething)

have you had the throttle cleaned? Sounds like your fuel pump may be getting hot and cutting out. Its possible it could be a faulty ignition module,but that usually just causes a no start not a suptter and stall.

My 1989 suzuki sidekick cranks but wont start. I changed the battery too.

you need to go step by step threw your system. first check the spark plugs to see if there is any moisture if so all bad. check wires to plugs and clean contacts inside distributor cap. check compression on each cylinder. they should be with in 10 psi of each other. check to see if there is even any juice being fed to the distributor. if there is no spark you need to fallow it back to the source until you find the problem.

You named the three items I'd look at first. get a manual (chilton or haynes are fine for this) and a digital multimeter. Run the tests on those and likely you will find the problem. You can also remove and clean the IAC valve and passages but do not turn the valve while cleaning or it may not seat correctly.

Buy a bottle of Techron Fuel injector cleaner. It's sold in many grocery stores and all auto parts stores. Pour the whole bottle into the gas tank when you can fill up. Drive the car and don't put more gas in until the car is almost empty. That should fix it

Volvo 240DL sputters while driving

Not enough information here, but I would always replace the crank shaft position sensor first. Its at the rear of the engine, it senses grooves in the flywheel. Next I would check the fuel pump relay. Finally the Airflow meter.
