Question about 2008 Lincoln MKX

Open Question

2007 Lincoln MKX, The traction control causes the engine to stumble when turning left or right under normal driving conditions ( dry weather and not driving in a manner that should cause traction control to engage ). If traction control is turned off, the car will drive normally. Could the traction control be over sensitive or need something replaced?

SOURCE: left turn signal start normal then gets faster.

First thing to look for is a bulb that's not working. Most cars use this feature to let you know when a light is not working. Try this: While the left flasher is going fast, check to make sure ALL the lights are working as there may be more than two. Use the right signal as a reference to check how many there are that SHOULD be working.

If this problem comes and goes, there is most likely a bad connection between bulb and socket and if so, unplugging/replugging the bulb should fix it. There are two bulb types: push-in and push-twist-pull.

SOURCE: how often should transmission fluid and filter be

Your owners manual has a schedule of maintenance in it.
Personally I would change trans fluid/filter at 50K unless you tow or qualify as severe service user. Check fluid monthly. Pay attention for leaks. Fluid should not be cloudy in color. Water will make fluid cloudy.

Things to check (in order of likelihood):
  1. Fluid level and condition in rear differential;
  2. Drive shaft center bearing;
  3. Rear outer bearings;
  4. Front bearings (have they been packed with grease in the past three years?);
  5. U-Joints
  6. Tires (separating tread, flat spots, etc.)

Black oil from under my Lincoln 2007mkz

Check your oil plug and filter, make sure they are tight. check your valve covers for bad gaskets. It could also be a bad seal in your engine. make sure you check your oil level in the engine before you drive it. hopefully this helps. The seals in the engine that is most likely to leak is the rear main seal.

Default is on ... it is for your protection - you paid for it ... why do you want it off? If this is as you say, you have other mechanical problems which should be resolved by your local Ford Dealer. Please discuss this in full detail with your service manager.

If you really want to defeat it ... see your mechanic who can change the default value to OFF.

Make sure you tell your insurance company that you are having this safety feature disabled and tell them why. Also be aware, if there is a problem that is exacerbated by your action, in a court proceeding, your mechanic will testify against you.

How often do I change the oil in my new Lincoln MKX ...every 2000 km or every 5000 km?

The owner's manual calls for changing oil and filter every 7500 miles in normal service, or if driving in dusty conditions, offroad, or lots of low speed and idling (a taxi or maybe an unlucky commuter), go to the extreme service intervals of 5000 miles. Changing oil every 3000 miles is definitely NOT required.
