When you changed the timing belt did you make sure you plugged the crankshaft sensor back up?

Probably they lifters are sticking causing timing and firing problems.... I had the same issues and after cleaning all the build up off the valve stems, lifters, and everything, put it back together with a new valve cover gasket it ran great.....

I think you have spent enough money to realize it's time to take it to a certified GM Tech, it can be any number of things, poor ground connection, faulty Power Train Control Module, I believe it is a Module problem because it sounds heat related. I am sorry I can't give more useful advice but these types of problems require tests that over the internet I can't do. Call me if you like 925-459-0571

Out of the blue . truck looses power and wants to die. not letting it die by hitting gas peddle it runs but starts back firering supper bad. truck dies .starting up it doesnt want to put . made it home .....

if you have replaced cap and rotor plus coil and it seemed to fire up then i would take the next step. For sure put your new plugs and wires on then make sure you have replaced your air filter, and change out your fuel filter, fire up the vehicle if it doesn't start I would suggest changing the fuel pump. If it starts up make sure you put in some BK fuel injector cleaner in your fuel it might be you have dirty injectors. If all fails then get back with me and we will look else where. Good luck hope this info helps you out

Let me also say that on my 97 pathfinder it ran good up until i replaced the water pump. then it wouldnt start. so i changed the spark plug wires and plugs. same thing...wants to start just wont fire up....

My first thought was the timing belt was not in time since you have to remove the belt to get to the pump.
The crank sensor is near the flywheel so it should not have been touched.
But timing should not affect the spark coming out of the coil.
It could be a problem with the resistor for the coil or something with the computer.
Did you also replace the cap and rotor when you changed the distributor ? Is the spark weak coming out of the coil ?
You may have to get a used shop manual from Ebay to get the test procedures and wiring diagram for the ignition system.

I put timi belt and sparkplug on 2005 Kia amanti and ran for 5 min started runnig roughy it to coils put to new coils on it it ran 5minute and died now it won't start

Check the timing. Before I put anything back together I always start the car and make sure everything is okay. After puting the belt on you always want to rotate the crank two full revolutions to double check your timing. This is of course assuming u did the timing belt because of maintenance and not because it broke.

It runs rough when it idles. The water pump was changed a couple months ago. But it ran great till last Friday. Someone said it was a firing coil.

Whomever replaced the water pump had to remove the timing belt to get to the pump. It's possible the belt was not replaced properly and the engine timing is off. Details about this can be found by registering for free at www.autozone.com and accessing the shop manual for your vehicle.

The van wont start. Changed coil, changed distributor cap, got new battery, put gas in carburetor but still wont fire up!?! Please help!!

We had this same problem with the 1992 Dodge Ram D250 pickup truck we own. We wasted a lot of money until my Uncle's mechanic (he owns a small auto shop) fixed the problem. There was some kind of oil pump shaft that needed replaced. Sorry I am not very smart with vehicles, but I do remember that it has something to do with the distributor and oil pump working together. The teeth on this particular part were chewed up so the distributor was not firing correctly. The part was replaced and the truck has started and ran just fine ever since. I wish I could remember what the part is called!!! But I just know it was a part that looked like a pipe kind of; it was straight and had some teeth like things at one end...
