If you open the bleeder and the caliper releases, the hose going to the caliper is bad. replace both front caliper hoses.

On a 2005 vehicle-- at most-- you may need
new rotors & pads, that is all

I'm lost at that story

Don't really grasp what your doing
or what you got yourself into

If I ask any questions-- I feel I will insult you,
so weigh in if you want

Mazda5 rear right brake gets hot, sometimes smells burning.

Try simple/free things first: put car on jack stands, turn wheels to see if you hear pads/shoes dragging after brake pedal on/off,pads should free-float after brake pedal release and if not releasing (by the way,was any brake fluid spilled accidentally on the pads??),more than likely bad caliper;sure the pads are correct ones (thickness) for your car rotors/calipers???. Hope this helps. Alberto

My 1999 feel like the brakes are stuck..I drive it some meters it release then sticks again..while sometimes pulling left

when dealing with brake issues, both sides need to be adressed, if you replace anything on one side, other side requires same work, both calipers and brake pads, and possibly both rotors need to be replaced !!! rotors can be out of round, never use "used pads" , right now your new caliper is working better than the used caliper on otherside, thus still pulling like before ! DO YOU UNDERSTAND !!!

I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 that Upon breaking begins to vibrate and kinda bounce plus it wants to pull to he right away from the side that vibrates. Any ideas. The vibrating and shaking begins about one...

You need to have the front rotors turned or replaced. Take a set of dial calipers and measure the rotor thickness. compare that to the specs on the rotor and that will let you know if you can turn them. Put new pads on and make sure to lube the slider pins.

Just changed front brakes now have slight pull to right. no steering whel play or extra pull on breaking, where should I start in diagnosing

Did you remove all rust from caliper and pad abutments
(sliding surfaces) ?
Did you put anti-seize on those parts, that need to slide
and be protected from future rusting?
Did you machine the rotors?
You don't put new pads on worn rotors
Did you bleed all 4 wheels (flush)
The right side is pulling because you most likey
have a caliper not completely releasing.
Sounds like you put the problem in there

Put new brake pads on, now brakes were smoking. Sticking caliper?

They are rather easy to replace, disconnect the brake hose, and remove the caliper as you did replacing the pads. You'll need to then bleed the caliper until clear fluid, with no air bubbles come from the bleeder screw. Check that you don't have a collapsed brake hose, not letting the fluid return to the master cylinder.

Replacing pads

This is usualy associated with either a bad caliper or the brake line to that caliper colapsing not allowing the fluid to release pressure therefore keeping the pads in contact with the rotor causing the drag.

2001 silverado 1500, just put on new pads rotors and 1 new caliper, the brakes are spungy, the wheel with the new caliper is sticking and the front passanger brake too, i cant figure out why.

Replace both front brake hoses.....they collapse on the inside and will not allow fluid to retract...caliper was probobly fine.....this happens a lot....good luck...Lee

Rear brakes not completely disengaging

your inside pad wore out first do to a bad caliper or frozen slide or brake hose.remove brake hose off the caliper and see if you can turn the wheel.if you can replace hose and bleed caliper.if wheel still doesn't move buy a loaded caliper, this will come also with new slides!and then bleed

2000 chevy 1500 silverado- rear brakes overheating

Have someone push & release pedal while at wheel with problem. See if it takes a while or slow to release. If yes, have wrench ready on bleeder screw, and try again, if it sticks/holds, crack bleeder screw, if it releases, I'd replace hose.
