Question about 2002 Jaguar X-Type
You could have several things wrong with it. first loosen or remove the belt off the front of the engine.then see if it turn over. If it does then your a/c compressor is locked up, you'll have to replace it. If it doesn't hit the starter several times or as some one tries to start it with a hammer or some sort of steel rod. If it tries to start or turn then replace the starter. If it still won't turn the engine may be locked up. you can get a socket on the bolt that holds the balancer pulley on(at the bottom front of the engine) And try to turn it, turn it both ways usually when an engine locks up it will turn one way but not the other. If it turns both ways smoothly then go back to the starter it is probably locked up. Good luck
