You can go to and register for a free account.
Then login to that account.
Choose vehicle year, make, and model
Then choose view repair manual

Loosen the nut on the wiper arm and remove it. Then take that big black plastic piece that is under the wipers on the bottom of the windshield and remove it.
Now you have access to the wiper motors and arms. Remove the nut that holds on the arm, then the two bolts that hold on the motor and remove it.

Do you know how to test automotive electrical circuits ! Using a wiring diagram and a volt meter ? test power to the wiper motor .
Control from the switch . free wiring diagrams . Enter vehicle info. year , make , model an engine size . Under system click body & accessories , subsystem click wiper / washer . click the search button then the blue link . Look at the diagram for pin # 's an wire colors , see fuse at top of diagram . Check B+ power with volt meter . Check the inputs from the wiper switch to the motor . If all the power an inputs are good , replace the wiper motor .

1999 gmc safari van wipers wont work

check fuse, then run a ground wire to the wiper motor and ensure the ground is good. if the wipers start to work then the motor just needs a permanent ground connected to it. if it doesn`t work then check for power at the motor if you have power then tap the motor with a hammer to see if it starts if so then the motor is bad.

Wipers not working

Could be a relay. Look at your wiring diagram. Swap relay with one of the same number, see if it cures the problem.

Check fuse in box,if good, then go to wiper motor, put meter to wires at wiper motor and turn on and see if you are getting power,if so,then motor is bad,if not maybe wiper switch.

The windshield wipers only work when they want to in my 1997 GMC Safari van.

these have had problems with the wiper motor having a bad ground.take a jumper wire and run it from a good ground to the body of the wiper motor.if this doesn`t help then with the wipers on(hopefully not working at the time)take a hit the motor and see if it starts to work.if it does then the motor has a bad spot in it(like a bad starter) and will need to be replaced.

I need a diagram showing how to replace the wiper motor on my 2003 Yukon

I can give you instructions, but I do not have a diagram.
-First you have to take off the wipers arms. What I use is a small battery terminal post puller, works pretty good.
-Then remove the two end caps for the center air inlet grille and then the center grille. You MUST pay strict attention at ALL times not to hit the windshield.
-Remove the 4 bolts that hold the wiper transmission and a support bracket and remove the tranmission/motor assembly.
-Remove the connector plug, be careful not to break it.
-You then have to separate the drive link arm from the transmission and remove 2 more bolts holding the motor to the transmission.
-You should have a special tool to separate the drive link but it can be done without one if your careful.
Please let me know how it goes.

Need wiring diagram

i dont think u need a wiring diagram. you should check your wiper motor circuit board first. on my 94 s10 the wipers either worked when they wanted to and now they dont work at all. just either replace the circuit board yourself ($19.95 on ebay) or replace the whole wiper motor ($60 on ebay) and your wipers should work. just give this a shot as its a good place to start. i myself am going to replace the wiper circuit board as its cheap, and really easy to access and replace. all you need is a screw driver. good luck. and no, im not a GM Technician. just owned my truck since day 1 and always try to check vehicle forums for answers first.
