2003 toyota corolla power problem

By tq2163 on Jun 17, 2008

" "
I have a 2003 Toyota corolla, I used an air compressor to fill up my tires. My radio, clock, lighters, and powered mirrors stopped working. I checked all the fuses outside the car and inside with a test light. Repaired the 15 amp fuse for CIG but the stuff still doesn't work. What else can it be? All the fuses work. What am I missing to check for?

Hi there!

If you have checked all the fuses under the dash, Make sure you look at those closest the battery near the engine.

If these test fine, There is probably a cable fault.

If you have a meter, take out the 15A fuse for the lighter, and use a probe between the contacts and ground (steelwork/ Negative)

You should get 12V or thereabouts. If you don't - check engine bay area fuses in the same manner one by one, then replace after testing.

Pull the fuses relating to the radio in the same manner, one by one.

You should be able to identify the fault this way if you are methodical about it.

Hope this resolvesthe problem for you. If it does, Please take a moment to rate as Fixya!

Thanks.
