Hello sir
1. Accoring to the owners manual as long as the guage needel is between the N and L of NORMAL all is OK. 2. I used a lazer thermometer to check the temps of the radiator inlet hose and radiator fins & tubes, near the rad inlet. The max temp I recordered before the fan came on was 170 F - well below the boiling point. I repeated the test 3 mor times - same results. So now I believe the manual.

Radiator fans not coming on. replaced thermostat and cooling sensor

Hi Bill, is the engine actually getting hot enough for the fans to come on? if the engine does have overheating problem (but you say the temp gauge reads normal) then i would check the operation of the engine temp switch, there are two, one for the gauge and one for the fans.

Air pockets will make the guage do that, and also cause your heat to come and go. Also, a poor radiator, as in rotting, or plugged up, will cause high temperature issues.

The thermostat may be wearing out. A thermostat controls the engine temperature to keep it at a consistent temperature, The other fan will probably turn on if you turn on your Air Conditioner.

Over heating of engine

ok if you have to keep refilling the radiator you may hav a leak check under your car for any coolant on the driveway in the morning, also when you turn on the a/c it draws power from the engine, so what im thinking is that gradually over the day you are leaking coolant once you turn the aircon on its making the engine work harder with less cooling causing it to overheat this is all assuming you are leaking coolant
