Question about Toyota 4Runner

1 Answer

I have a 2007 Toyota 4runner with a drivers side reverse light that is out. I tried a new bulb and also tried to swap the bulb and socket from the passengers side with no luck. I am not sure what to try next.

Try to check the grounding of the said socket! The wiring might have been disconnected!

thanks. I'll take a look. For this socket there are no wires directly attached. They are all connected at another socket above. This one just has 2 metal tabs that must make contact when plugged in. I assume the grounding wire would be right there within the taillight housing? Thank you.

2007 Hyundai Tucson: Driver side bright light doesn't work. Changed bulb.

Try swapping the light with the one that does work, see it that bulb is actually good. If it doesn't work then the bulb is bad. If it does check the socket and test the leads to make sure you have 12V at the socket. If 12V is there check for a bad ground. It will be one or the other.

The left side dash light is out on the air conditioning/heater guage on the panel. How do I replace that bulb?

The LED bulbs on the AC/FAN cluster can be replaced. However, if you go to a dealer, they'll want to replace the entire cluster.

There are forums that can show you step by step LED bulb replacements that require only a simple trip to Radio Shack to get a soldering gun, some LED bulbs and a solder extractor (for the old stuff that melts off).

Here's a link to a step-by-step bulb replacement with pictures:

The headlight on the pass. side works right. the drivers side when in low beem, the light is in high beem. when the light is on high beem the light is on low beem. this is a 2000 mercury sable

someone has switched the wiring harness sockets to the wrong bulbs or installed the bulbs in reverse. get in behind the headlight assembly on the driver side and reverse the wires, if that does not work then pull the bulbs and swap them inside to outside and vice versa.

2002 Toyota highlander passenger brake light not working

RE: 2002 Toyota Highlander 2.4cyl. 4X4 Base Model

I am a Certified Technician and have basic knowledge with electronics in electrical wiring. I searched the web and discovered this is a common problem.

I fixed the problem and it was a simple procedure... The problem is with the reverse light socket at the side with no brake light. This socket functions as a hub to direct current to the brake bulbs.

Remove reverse light socket and re-seat bulb. Check for loose or broken prongs. Replace if necessary.

Swap the reverse socket with the other side.

Two brake lights on my 1996 4runner are not working..the top light and passenger, but the driver side is working

the first thing to check are the bulbs, make real sure the filiments are good and not uncoiled and kind of stretched from the heat.they can sometimes fool even a seasoned tech.if not them check wiring and sockets for fire if you have power to sockets and new bulbs and still no light clean inside the sockets good, starting fluid works really good most times hope this helps..

How to fix a brake light

all lights must be working in order for the lights to work in some's possible that you may have a bad ground wire to the light socket or the you may not be getting power to that socket, which means you have a bad wire. Check to see if you're getting power to that socket with an electrical tester first.
