Question about 2000 Ford Focus

2 Answers

AT FIRST WHILE DRIVING I COULDN'T ACCLERATE AND THEN IT WOULDN'T START. AFTER GETTING A JUMP IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN BUT WHEN U TURNED THE CAR OFF YOU WOULD HAVE A HARD TIME STARING IT BACK UP. AFTER STARTING IT ONE TIME SMOKE STARTED COMUNG FROM HOOD AND THE WATER IN THE WATER PUMP STARTED MAKING A SIZZLING SOUND ONCE CAR WAS TURNED OFF. SO, I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE SAID THERE WAS A LEAK WHERE THE ANTI-FREEZE IS SO, HE FIX THAT AND SAID HE DISCOVERED THAT THE ANTI-FREEZE WAS GOING IN THE ENGINE IN WET THE SPARK PULGS, WHICH IS WHY THE CAR WONT STOP. SO HE SAID HE NEEDS TO TAKE OFF THE TOP OF THE ENGINEE TO FIND OUT WHY AND THAT WHAT I NEED TO FIX THE PROBLEM IS A HEAD GASKET. DOES THAT SOUND ABOUT RIGHT? COULD THAT BE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BECAUSE IM REALLY TRYING TO GET THE CAR FIXED.

Yes it is most likely that you have a blown head gasket or a crack in your head , if spark plug has white carbon on it or evidence of coolant in cylinder then your mechanic has to remove cylinder head to inspect dammage , the cylinder head gasket usually is dammaged when a car over heats ,

you may find that the car runs rough and doesnt idle very well also , due to the water leak.
and some times you will see water in your engine oil or oil in your radiator .

im sorry for this bad new's , hope your mechanic is cheap when it comes to the bill?

You don't have to take the head off to verify a coolant leak into the combustion chamber. A coolant pressure test will tell, or even a leak down test.
But...if the head needs to be removed, it is a costly job, and if you have been driving it this way for a long time, it will do permanent damage.

My 2007 dodge charger didn't crank so I jumped it

A battery from 07 is still decently new to be that bad, but I would check the alternator first, just get the car running and unhook the positive cable from the battery, if the car dies the alternator is bad.

No because then it wouldn't jump. Does the vehicle even turn over? Is the battery dead and you are supplying it electricty by jumping it? If so check for a draw on the battery, loose or corroded battery terminal ends, and the alternator output.

With alarm activated your ignition is disabled.Find the combination to disable it.With GM's you hold opposing buttons on the fob till it beeps twice. The dealer should help for no charge.
