Go to a parts store website and find a power steering pump for your car. then find the thing under your hood which looks just like it and check the power steering fluid level. generally this is done by unscrewing the top and checking the small dipstick.

What is the sensor on the side of the throttle body and if it goes out will the car not start

Depends on the vehicle. There should be two on the throttle body. One is opposite of the throttle cable, this is the throttle position sensor(TPS). The other one is bigger , it is the idle air control(IAC) motor. I have never heard one hum before, I guess the IAC could because it is an actuator. IF the IAC was stuck open, this would cause the engine not to start. It would a very big vacuum leak.

Bad cv joint symptoms noise

Need more info. CV joints when they go bad make a noise when turning. Sound like a crunching sound. Easy way to check is to simple part the car, turn the wheel all the way to one side and look at the boots. If they have a tear or show signs of leaking, you could have a bad one.

Check your Power Steering Fluid. I would suspect its low, if so, you have a leak and the most common thing to leak is the High Pressure Hose. Have that looked at ASAP, you dont want to destroy the PS Pump.

My Buick Rivera when turning left I heard a large popping noise under the front of the car?

A large noise made during turns could be a bad CV joint. They are what the car uses to connect the wheels to the engine.

A local mechanic can check your CV joints protective coverings or "boots". These boots can be torn and the grease that keeps the joints quiet may have leaked out of one or both of them.

You can look yourself at the outermost boots and see if one of them is all greasy and dirty. A good sign it has leaked.

I hope this helps. Good luck and be careful.
