Hello. Welcome to FixYa. Please allow us to assist you.

The ECT PWR light is on because someone has inadvertantly bumped the switch. Look on the console, by the shifter, or on the dash for a switch labeled ECT. Turn it off, and the light will go out.

The ECT PWR mode, when activated, increases the time that the transmission shifts up thru the gears. Without the mode selected, the first shift would be at 18-20 mph. With the mode selected, the first shift would be 20-22 mph. This mode basically allows the shift to occur later, and is normally used when you are towing something, or if you have a large load of cargo in the car.

Thanks for choosing FixYa for assistance. Have a great day.

What is ect-pwr when the green light comes on for the Toyota Estima 2002 diesel minivan

ECT is an acronym for Electronically Controlled Transmission and the ECT PWR button is a function of the redesigned transmission. When pressed, the ECT PWR button will adjust shift points so you can reach higher RPM levels before shifting into the next gear.

I have a toyota cellica1995 auto coupe (import) no handbook. green Warning light on dash, Ect-S power, what does this mean. Have just changed the alternator any reference to this? cheers mark

Easy one. You pressed (or someone pressed) the ECT button located near the shifter, in the console, or on the shifter itself. It changed the shift pattern of the transmission to a higher shift point for more performance (but uses more gas). Look for the switch and with the engine running push it until the light goes off.

What does it mean when the green pwr light comes on?

I assume you mean the "ect power " light. This means the trans computer will hold each gear a little longer before changing down. It is turned on and off by a button on the console

A green light came on "ECT PWR", what does that mean?

It means Electronically Controlled Transmission.

Basically in the older models there is an option to turn ECT on which allows for better acceleration as it's controlled electronically.

Hope help with this.

there should be a switch that says power/econ the light means you have it set for power ,find the button and push it and it will read econ, it is usually a green button on the center console.this changes the shift characteristics of your vehicle.

Green light ext pwr

The ECT/power light is controlled by the ECT switch on the console. WHat it does is stretches the shift point from 1-2 and 2-3 when you are carrying a large load, or towing something. For maximum fuel economy, the light should be switched off.
