sounds like your tranny might be fried. Check the fluid on the dipstick on a paper towel if its black on the towel it might have gotten hot smell it for a burnt smell.

1999 Blazer -4x4 4.3 liter 140,000 miles- lost reverse...no prior problems or symtoms...happened pretty much at once, Fluid ok...linkage appears to be ok....time for new tranny?

That year of blazer would have the electronic transmission in it, a 4L60E I believe? A pretty common problem I have seen with people who have the same kind of vehicle is the control module for the transmission and not so much the transmission itself, especially in 4x4's. Often times this problem occurs after going out wheeling, and it's often as simple as reconnecting the plug on the tranny, or pulling it off and cleaning off the contacts, or if that doesn't work then head to the junkyard and pull the module off of one from there (and hope that it didn't have the same problem)

My 1997 Ford Explorer just stopped in it's place when I was driving it. I would put it into drive and put my foot on the gas and it would not move and I tried to put it in reverse and it would do the same...

tranny is getting ready to die. do you smell any tranny fluids or see any red fluid spots on the driveway? before panic sets in , I would first go to autozone and buy a can of transmission doctor. add it and see if any changes. if there are changes for the better then sounds like a good fluid fush and filter change may be the sure fix.

Transmission leaks, clunks into gear

Well your clunking noise is most likely the u-joints the leaking pan is the tranny pan what you would have to do is get a tranny kit and change the pan gasket tranny filter and fluid or take to a shop and have a tranny service done.

1995 Chevy S10 Blazer

IT IS NOT GOING INTO NEUTRAL. IT HAS LOST THE DIRECT DRIVE CLUTCH PACK INTERNALLY. SOUNDS LIKE IT IS HIGH MILEAGE. IF SO AND YOU CHANGE THE FLUID IT CLEANS UP ALL THE VARNISH IN THE TRANNY AND THE END RESULT IS TRANNY MALFUNCTIONS DEPENDING ON WHAT KIND OF CARE IT HAS HAD IN THE PAST.
