My wipers wont work

I just bought a 1990 isuzu Impulse, great little car, the only problem is the wipers dont work, we replaced the switch in the car on the dash that didnt fix it, we also replaced the wiper motor, when we plug the harness into the motor and turn on the intermitin button the motor give one little movement then nothing at all so changing the motor didnt work, I was wondering if we are missing something or if this is a known issue and how to fix it, we need wipers before it rains in 2 days. HELP!!!!!!!

hint 2, its an Isuzu engine.
its really (makes information easier to find )
Isuzu:
4XE1-UW a DOHC 16-valve engine with 130 hp (97 kW)
he DOHC engine was used in the 1990-1991 Isuzu Impulse XS, in the 1990-1991 Isuzu Stylus XS, in the 1990-1991 Geo Storm GSi, and the M100 Lotus Elan.
all that off the wiki,,

This engine is interference type
so when timed, with a new belt
roll engine by hand, with spark plugs out.? do pistons hit valves.
yes, stop, the cam is timed wrong.
no, do a compression test on #1, if pass, do all 4. 150psi min.w.o.t.
wide open throttle
a better test, is a leak down test. x4. by hand.
these acts of kindness to the engine, saves most engines.

if the leak down fails, the timing is wrong, or the valves are already
bent..
dont use a fleabay china belt, bet a GATES belt. (they last)
setting the tension is very important to a full life .

My impulse ides high and rough. I'v changed the plugs and wites, what else can I do?

I would find a good mechanic and have him check the mixture, both with and without the choke or cold fuel enrichment on. Sounds like you have too much fuel in your combustion.

I have replaced the wiper switch on my 1990 F 250 and it still is not working properly. Since the wipers work I am assuming it is not the motor. That seems to indicate it is something called the...

Hi:
If your truck has a wiper switch that you rotate counter clockwise to get the intermittent wipe mode, and turn clockwise to get to the low and high settings, then your truck has a interval wiper relay module. You could have a bad wiper switch assembly too, as the intermittent part of the switch is seperate from the low and high wiper switch. It is a inexpensive part, less than $20 for the switch, and the interval wiper relay part is somewhat expensive, 70-100 bucks or so. My truck didn't have intermittent wipers when I bought it, so I went to a junk yard and removed a switch and a module from a wrecked truck for $40, and it has worked fine ever since. Maybe you can find a good used part to swap into your truck for testing? Once you buy new electrical parts, you cant return them!

1990 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup. Windshield wipers, Cruise Control

May want to look at replacing the wiper circuit board. It is located on the firewall adjacent to the wiper motor and has a some what square black cover with 3 torx screws and wireing harness pluged into the side.We had a truck that every time you washed it the wipers would stay on until it dryed out.You can try removing it and spaying it down with contact cleaner just watch the brease on the two contact tips.Well hope this helps.

Need engine diagram for a 1990 trooper 2.8 v6

I would go to www. my isuzu parts.com
and view their index. It takes a little getting used to
but you can find oiut where a lot of stuff goes and how it connects.
Other than that go to a library and try to view a Haynes,Chilton
or Mitchell maintenance manual for more specific stuff.
If you go to my isuzu parts besure to notice the tabs at the top of each diagram --they will tell you if the diagram is for
a 4 cyl, a deisel or the v6.
good luck
