Question about 1991 Ford Mustang
First I would check the fuel filter - replace if ANY discolored gas comes out. Check your owners manual or a repair manual ( chiltons, etc. ) for the location of your filter. Also go to your local auto parts store and ask them to show you the fuel filter so you'll know what you're looking for. If the filter is cheap enough, I would pick one up along with a quality fuel injection cleaner you add to the gas tank. Then check out your spark plugs and wires - if they look old, are real soft, or oil soaked then I would change them too along with the distributor cap and rotor, if equipped. There are other components you may need to inspect if these don't do it but those are more involved to inspect an diagnose - and more costly!! Start with these instructions and let me know if they help or not.
Hope this helps!!
