Question about Ford F-350 Super Duty

1 Answer

My heater works at 60 mph but it gets cold when i'm sitting still. Some times it wont heat up at any speed. I have replaced the thermostat and coolant. All hoses are fine and not leaking. My truck is a 2003 F-350 super duty crew cab with a 6.0 diesel. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your blower motor is not working. You must check it out first. Lets start with the fuse then the relay and last the resistor. If all these check out ok you have a bad fan blower motor. Good Luck!!!

My 1999 Plymouth Breeze when idle the Gage Norma when driving the 2 miles an hour at 60 miles an hour temperature gauge indicates on the low level way to cold my heater in the car gets cool? Why

Hello your problem is simple if it is just sitting there running and you have heat but if you drive it and you lose heat it is the thermostat, it is stuck open and the fluid is passing threw the motor to fast to heat up. get a new thermostat and problem will be fixed

2009 Mercury Mountaineer, my heater wont work unless I'm driving and get over 50 mph... I let my car warm up for 20-30 minutes and it wont defrost my windshield, it only blows cold air.

i would check the thermostat,i think its stuck open the coolant is running cold so you should install a new thermostat with higher degree.

Heat blows cold air front and rear when sitting still or @ low mph.

Usually a sign of low coolant or a blockage in the circulation.

Dodge Ram 1500 - I have no heat. Will replacing the thermostat slove this? If so how do I replace the thermostat?

Hello, No! I'm assuming that the temp gauge is working in truck & you are not over heating. On the passenger side firewall check both hoses going to/from heater core. If both are not warm then it is probably a heating core plug. You will have to replace the heater core.

Heat won't work when moving.

sounds like the thermostat has a problem and needs to be replaced. The thermostat regulates temp and it defective can either stay closed or stay open and I reckon in your case it has stuck open permanently.
Your manual should show you where the thermostat is located.

Heater only blows cold air untill your at 60 MPH

Sounds like heater core still plugged,and/or has air in system.I have had good luck with back flushing ( rinsing in reverse of normal flow) with a mixture of cascade dish washing detergent and water. This ("new and improved" Dex-cool antifreeze/coolant) sure does gum up and eat certain gaskets. When you have it refilled find a mechanic that has a vacuum operated filler. These are the greatest way to refill with no air pockets. Also could be the temperature blend door being incorrectly opened/shut though I doubt it.Hope this helps and please rate me!!
