Mercedes engines use timing chains not belts. The timing chain should last the life of the engine and no service is needed, unless something out of the ordinary happens, worn guide or sprocket.

If at any time you have to change the timing chain, ensure a Mercedes mechanic does the job.
There is a definite sequence to perform when replacing parts, otherwise nasty damage can result
