Hi!
Here is a wiring diagram to help you trace an open circuit. If the hitch wires were melted, start from there. Check if the hazard lights work, if they do, and you can't find andy open or loose wires, your problem may be the actual turn signal switch at the steering column. This site only allows us to send 150k max images, most times it is clear enough, If you need better resolution please provide an email address to send it to.

Do you know what fuse it is?? There is a label in the inside of the fuse cover with the fuse No. and description. You are going to need a 12v test light or a Voltmeter to do some checking. Let me know when you ready. Don't worry, we'll figure out what's wrong. Also, were you able to expand the diagram? if not, please provide an email address to send it to because that's going to be the base to do the checking.

How do I fix a reverse light that don't work after changing bulb

check fuses first? right, (endless answer to electrics,)
ok , no transmission stated.
so how'd we guess that,?
ok, both trans have a Reverse switch, in the casing of M/T
or the A/T the side switch.(aka, PRNDL switch)
in both cases. of 12vdc arrives there. and if it dont exit there.
then the switch is bad. (in reverse) (use a voltmeter and save time?)

if you see like 6v there, it might be the reverse wiring is shorted to the body or tailer hitch wire hack jobs, common

Blinkers and break lights in 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sport Do Not Work, how do I fix?

well first is the fuse. (if all else works ok, not stated)
no shorted bulbs, they can short. like that. and blow fuse.
the free book is here, see TJ? 1999
see last line WIRING, click that?
id work brakes first, 10x more simple.
see page. ,8w-51-4 (pdf page 134)
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service

see fuse 2? brakes
it feeds brake switch .
id bet the fuse is blown,
if blown remove 4 lamps , blow now, wirnng shorts rear. (hitch hacks)
if not blown check wire, white-tn (tan) for 12v when brakes are applied, if 0v move forward do switch, brake,
the point that has 12vdc on one side and 0v other is bad.
wire, connector or switch.
if voltage is found to be low, that is a short.

Are you sure that your fuses and connectiosn are OK? If this isn't work, test voltage from/at wires from/at harnesses and socket bulbs. Finally, check or replace bulbs.

check ur wiring at the trailer hitch.sounds like a chaffed wire could b causing. another spot could b to chek ur headlite switch ,change fuse an wiggle headlight switch see if it blows fuse again ,anothr fault could also b weak filaments in ur rear bulbs,or broken filaments shorting ur pwr supply.while bak there chek out rear taillamp bulb sockets for signs of burnin or melting plastic.very common

Just had a similar problem. Brake (stop) lights and horn didn't work. Couldn't find mention of stop lights in fuse chart. Found horn fuse to be slot 21 in the engine fuse block (not the fuse block in car interior). Replaced 15A fuse and all now ok.

The 30A pump fuse and the 10 solenoid fuse are dedicated. The only other fuse in the circuit is 175A @ the battery. Look under the A.I.R. fuse block for melting around the relay

I have a 96 Suburban. The daytime headlights come on, brake lights work, but I have no tail light. Turn signals work as well. I checked all fuses and changed all tail light bulbs.

More than likely the circuit board on the taillight housing is bad. Very common. Check for melted plastic or corrosion near terminals on bulb in board. You can buy them at Napa for about twenty bucks per side.
