I just fixed the same problem, the turn signal switch has a bad connection inside of it. i took mine apart and did some soldering and fixed it. if you try this be careful things and springs tend to fly out.
I believe your switch runs about $55.00. And they are not hard to replace. remove the column coverscrews on the bottom. Two screws and two plugs and teh switch is replaced.
Good luck

Relay makes buzzing noies

This is usually a sign that the contact points in the Relay are bad and the Relay needs replacement. Another problem can be the wiring to the Relay no longer connects a terminal to the Relay. The Relay would not lock or stay engaged and the Coil inside the Relay would buzz because it can not connect and engage the magnets inside the Relay coil.

Jaguar xj6 break light cancels signal

Replace the turn signal switch. Bad contact inside causing a crossing of the circuits. When the turn signal is applied it should open the brake light circuit allowing for just the signal to work. Doesn't sound like the switch is doing it's job.

1997 cavalier turn signals

Your left turn signal relay might be out, if i remember correctly, it's located in the fuse box, and is as easy as changing a fuse. If it isnt in the fuse box under your dash then check under the hood, possibly near the battery.
