How could i reset the security lock on a 1999 chevy corvette

I can't find a reset for that year of Corvette. It is a Passlock system. So maybe the normal 30 minute procedure will work.

Perform the re-learning procedure

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
  3. Observe the SECURITY light, after approximately 11 minutes the light will turn OFF.
  4. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 10 seconds.
  5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes ( the vehicle is now ready to relearn the Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK).

If not, this site may help. http://diy-gm-security.com/

Security system reset

You may need to check the owners manual for a Corvette. Most GM models can be set by leaving the key in the on position for a few minutes with the engine off, or by locking and unlocking the drivers door with the key.

If you don't mind spending the money, go to Helm (helminc.com) and indicate you particular vehicle to get a listing of publications offered and the prices.

1999 corvette conv ac light blinks and shuts off have not used the ac in this car for a couple of years, could it be freon.

yes, you need to use it every month or so to keep the seals soft. It's probably leaking and low on R-134a.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r5833579-auto_truck_c_recharge . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

Battery drained, low engine power light on, engine light on

battery likely not holding strenght, light will stay on as a reminder of the problem, disconnect the negative cable of the battery for 5 minutes and reconnect it, this reset the error codes ( that is what the light is, an error code), good luck

1986 chevy corvette service engine light

the light can be reset by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, but the light is telling you there is a problem in the electronic controls of the engine, until that problem is fixed the light will continue to come on. Here is how u test the system for the trouble codes that are stored whenever the check engine light comes on. Go to the link for instructions on how to retrieve codes.

No nothing like that, but there is a feature that will no allow you to get out of park unless the brake pedal is pushed and the brake lights are working, check the brake light circuit.
