Sounds like you have a loose fan cage for the ac/heater.

2005'Towncar. 40k miles. Started making an odd sound on acceleration; hard to describe but sounds like it is coming from passenger dash side. Maybe an air noise?? No sound on very soft acceleration

Turn off heater/air conditioner and accelerate briskly. If noise does not occur problem is probably a regulator in the heater/air conditioning system located under the dash.

What would cause knocking under the dash on the passenger side

When does the knocking occur? Is it related to the air blower?

When the ignition is on a knocking noise comes from under the dash on the passenger side

I have the same problem i think.
The noise is something to do with the air con inlet gate???
Q. is there a fuse to isolate this as the position of the problemis above the glove box and can only be accessed with the dash board out and that would be very expensive.

check your blower motor under the passenger side of the dash, round plastic box three screws pull it out something might have fallen though your cowl and chewed up the fan blades. as for the ac your r-12 is probly empty or has a leak bring it to a local garage and have them flush and fill your cooling system. heater would be your thermostat not openig properly, by far your cheapest fix under ten dollar part.

I have a 1998 Buick Century has 2 zone heating Driver side works, pasinger side blows cold air

It sounds like you have either a defective passenger blend air door actuator or a broken passenger blend air door.

Sometimes the actuators just get stuck. Try turning the passenger control to full COLD and wait about 1 minute. Then turn it to full HOT and see if it changes. I have done this with several GM vehicles and I often get a "POP" noise when I change it back to HOT and everything starts working again. I have also had some luck getting stuck doors loose by removing the hush panel from under the dash and "thumping" on the A/C housing with my fist.

If none of this works, you will have to remove the dash to fix it.

sounds like u have an electric mode door motor,in ur hvac housing stripped . move the mode selector to different positions to amplify noise an sort of control noise. u have a blend air door motor, mode position motor, for example inside air an outside air recirculating door motor, or defroster mode motor or actuate the heater position an u should b able to control noise by changing modes, thats wen u know u found it wen u can make the noise come an go. also one of ur selector positions is obviously not workin due to a stripped motor or broken blend door. good luck

Yeah there is a fuse under the dash board on the driver side. But if you take it out your heater and air conditioner want work. you can remove the dash panel on the passenger side and oil the blow motor and it will not make it noise.
