98 ford ranger no heat have changed thermostat water pump heater control valve

Maybe the heater core is plugged or you haven't bled it properly?
If the heater hose returning from the core to the water pump is NOT hot, while the hose going to the heater core from the thermostat area IS hot, then the heater core is plugged probably.
You need to remove the heater hose while cool, from the thermostat area and remove the hose from the water pump area (that's the outlet of the flow thru heater core) AND THEN take a garden hose with p-is-tol grip type sprayer, and blow water back thru the outlet hose out the inlet hose. This will blow any bad plugging material out the way it got in.
Don't apply too much pressure if it is plugged bad. The heater core isn't made to stand 50lbs. water pressure. don-ohio (:^)

How do I change my heater core in my 1996 ford ranger

The heater core is located in the heater box, under the passenger side of the dash. Most FORD heater boxes are snap-clipped together, and if you remove the rear panel from the heater box, you will see the heater looks like a smaller radiator...twist the heater hose off of the heater core (x2) from the engine side and gently remove the heater core from under the dash. When replacing the new heater core, be very careful re-installing new hoses to the is a fragile thin metal that can leak almost instantly if tweaked too roughly...replace all parts in reverse order of removal.

94 Ranger 4.0 L V6 , manual transmission. Already replaced water pump and thermostat and ran water through the radiator to check for flow problem. Truck still overheats and the heater doesn't work. I...

First you need to purge the trapped air out of the system. Go to a shop that has evac/fill equipment and tehy can do it for about $75. It is ahrd to get air out. park uphill and rasie front of truck as high as possible, and keep cap loose during warm up. It will burp air. Then tighrten cap & let it cool while keeping the reservoir full during cool down. Repeat at least once. Make sure hose from rad to reservoir is tight at both ends to avoid sucking air in.

report results.

No heat is a sign of trapped air.

How do i change the heater core on a 1987 ford ranger v6 2.9 liter..from the inside or outside under the hood

you are going to drain and loosen the heater hoses from under the hood, the rest is inside. get yourself a repair manual cheap on ebay. you are lucky in that you have no passenger airbag and most likely you can do this yourself.

How do you replace the heater core in a 1996 Ford

I have not seen this particular truck, but on all the Fords I've seen, the plenum is on the passenger side, under or near the glove box. Usually the blower motor is to the right, and the plenum toward the center of the cab. I hope this steers you in the right direction. Doesn't Haynes give you a picture? I find many after market manuals tell you everything you already know, but not what you need to know.

How to replace heater core on 1990 ford ranger

Remove the glove box door. Behind the glove box there will be a big plastic panel that contains the evaporator and the heater core. The heater core will be copper. That is the one you need to remove. Do not try to disconnect the aluminum one. That is for your AC. Remove the two heater hoses on the outside of the firewall that connect to the heater core and it will slide right out.
