It might help removing the battery. You might try installing the radiator and then the fan assembly. It may also help to remove the top piece that is mounted above the radiator, where the hood latch is mounted on.

I need to know how to put a belt on a 1990 vw golf

Seat belt? Front or back?

They are pretty straight forward just one big bolt at each end. Hardest part is clipping on the decorative covers.

Cheers,

98 VW Volkswagen GL, Dash lights out, not a bad fuse, dimmer, or light switch. Lights come back on periodically, but when I hit a bump, or if knock on the dash with my fist, they turn back off..What's...

The last time I fixed a problem like this it was a bad connection on the back of the instrument cluster. I found it by working in my garage in the dark. I removed the cluster and wiggled wires with the lights turned on, until I found the trouble spot. I then took a pencil eraser to connections in the area, then cleaned it with alcohol. Put it back together and all was well again. best of luck!

I have a 1990 VW Golf. The hydraulics are gone on

Irene the easiest thing to do is change them out. They are pretty easy to get off just a few bolts and voila.

Good luck, if this doesnt help go to vwvortex.com and search around there

What does the coolent temprature sesor look like on my xreg golf

  • It has a black connector by the cylinder head. Follow the radiator hose.
  • Before doing anything make sure the engine temp is cold.
  • Release pressure from reservoir by cracking the cap open.
  • Jack the car up and place on stands. Place a wide catching device right under the lower radiator hose.
  • There would be a valve you can open and close to evacuate the coolant from the system for servicing.
  • Pull the horse shoe lock from the sensor and replace new o-ring together with the sensor.
  • Reverse procedure when you are putting it back together.
  • Only use 50/50 Filtered water and VW G12 anti-freeze
