Back up lights

I bought my car used..and my back up lights have never worked. I've changed the bulbs so I know that's not the problem. If it's the wiring is it something I can do myself? And...are there any tricks I can try BEFORE I have to dismantle my car?

The back up lights are connected to the neutral safety switch. Try replacing that

I have a 1998 Ford Expedition, and the licence plate lights don't work. I've replaced the bulbs. I don't have an owners manual so don't know which relay switch to change. Can anyone help?...

Hi, there is no relay, and the plate light run off the same fuse as the tail lights. The problem must be in the wiring or sockets in the back of the truck.

Replace the bulb in a 95 Blazer 4WD switch on the dash

the square box that all 3 lights are held in by can be taken out, just pry it on the top or bottom with a flat head screw driver, once you get it out you should see the wires that connect to the buttons, there are four tabs, 2 on each side, that you can just push in and the back panel should come off, it will look like a circuit board. twist the light bulb left or right and you should see how it comes out, just replace the bulb, and put back in and twist. should only have to twist 1/4 of a turn. snap everything back in place and it should be working. hope this helps.

Changed passenger side headlight bulb, now unable to adjust or align head lights

Changing the bulb should not have affected the housing adjustments.

The bulb is just inserted into the headlight housing. The adjustments on the headlight housing is what adjusts the alignment of the headlights.

Did you maybe not get the bulb not seated correctly in the socket? Or didn't get the socket not seated correctly into the housing?

Do you own a test light? Check for power at wires behind socket? Clean socket good , check contact spots for bulb & clean any rusty side of the socket with emery cloth, or sandpaper, for good contact also.
