Thanks for that, I'll give it a shot.
I was of the understanding that I could permanently deactivate the Immobiliser. Is this correct?

Hi, is there a 'remote keyless (fob)' programmed for this vehicle? That's the only way to DE-arm the immobilizer (anti-theft) feature (based on US specs). Unless you have this key fob (keyless entry remote... which must also be programmed for this vehicle), the only other way is wait 5 minutes with the existing key in the ignition, then it should start (US specs). You will still need to have an 'ACTIVE' keyless remote programmed for this vehicle... otherwise, you'll continue to run into this problem.

Its possible that yopu need to "reprograming" the keyless...

Actually on 2003 Hyundai Sonata GLS i had the same problem... there is a manufactuer alarm that should set off when you put the key in and turn.. do that one more time (BUT makng sure alarm goes off then do it again) then dont take the key out turn offthen set it in the ACC postion in the ignition after the alarm goes off then wait about 5 to 10 min and turn on by then it should have reprogramed and kick on.. The third time is when you should be waiting for the programming to be down... its very very important that you do the programming on the third time... because the computers are built in the car and not built like most other american made cars.

Are you check the THEFT-ALARM System? This is design to provide protection from unauthorized entry. In there you have three status: Armed, Alarm and Disarmed.

To ARMED,. remove the ignition key from ignition switch; make sure that the engine hood and trunk are locked. Lock the doors usin the transmitter keyless system. After of this steps, turn signal lamp is blink to indicate that the system is armed.

For ALARM stage, will be activated if any o front or rear door is opened without using key transmitter. The trunk lid is openened without key or hood is opened.

To DISARM the system... drivers or passenger door is unlocked using the key; drivers or passenger door in unlocked depressing the LOCK ot UNLOCK button from transmitter key. Same that ARMED, signla lights blink toadvise that the system is disamred.

Hope helps.

Hi i bought a vw beetle was running fine the last few days. I went to drive it yesterday and it wont start the immobiliser is showing its not flashing tho. My step dad replaced the car keys battery the day...

My immobiliser keeps flashing until I put the key in the ignition and then it stops. Normally changing key batteries has a period that if the battery is changed inside that time (say 5 minutes) then the key program will not loose memory Run fault codes to see if there is a problem in the electronics. Otherwise you may have to take the car to the dealer to have the key reprogrammed to the cpu in the car

Do i have an immobiliser problem?

Take a close look at those two lights. If one is a "check engine" light the car should be scanned. Autozone, Advance, and Oreilys do it free.

Some cars have switches on brake pedal levers or clutch levers which must be coordinated or timed to INTERLOCK with the starter. Also gearshift must be aligned similarily, such that all switches must be lined up for starter to work.

If lower switches are knocked out of position by feet, then it can cause starting problems.

Check your Battery voltage. Some antitheft are very sensitive to low voltage and the immobilizer will kick in.

First: alarm went off on its own.(mazda 6 2003). Now when locking and unlocking car sometimes indicators flash and sometimes not. Now red immobaliser light is flashing on dash when driving, then stops...

there is often a small back up battery in the immobiliser unit itself, if you can locate this unit and replace the battery with the ignition on / engine running, then it should not need recoding and work fine after that. The other thing that could be wrong is the key battery (if the fob has one) or the transponder chip in the key head. If the key signal is low the immobiliser lamp will light during driving, but this does not explain the alarm going off. That is more likely either a poor vehicle battery, alarm / immobiliser back up battery, or another electrical fault such as water leakage into a tail-light or even the alarm unit itself when it rains. A lot of alarms are voltage sensing and when the vehicle is parked they will alarm if the battery voltage changes for any reason, though not during driving so the battery in the immob is my first choice to look at.

2004 g35 coupe wont start. Is it the starter?

Hi there.

Firstly, have you checked that the battery is connected and has a charge in it? (This can be determined by looking to see if the dash lights illuminate when you turn the ignition on).

It could also be your spark plugs/glo plugs need cleaned or changed.

Another thing it may be is if the immobiliser is switched on.

Check all of your fuses.

Failing all of this, then yes, it could be your starter.

Hope this helps.

Immobiliser ?????? so i have been told

If, when you switch the ignition on, you get a dash light on, the symbol is a car with a key overlaid, you have somehow activated the immobilser You could try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, this may reset the immobiliser, If this does not work you will have to contact a Hyundai dealer to get the immobiliser unlock code.

2004 jetta does nothing when key turned

these motors suffer from dodgy starter contacts on the ignition switch, turn key and all lights on,push car and it starts ok but no starter motor.??these switches are dear as its a complete unit with steering lock,if this is the fault then fit an old fashioned push button switch on dash ---sorted.If you say epc light on then this is immobiliser ,try spare key if that dont work then its a dealer job to reset immobiliser unless someone knows how to by-pass it.Havent done one yet so i dont know how too,but i itching to get my diesel oil covered grimed in black hands on one to try and pit my wit against a four eyed nerd that invented the immobiliser system.

Wont start

Hi
Had a similar problem with my x type 2.5 petrol, only had the car 1 day went to start it nothing happend all the lights came up on the dash but the engine wouldn't start and the immobiliser light stayed on. Spoke to Jaguar they had no idea and I couldn't get it to them. After disconnecting the battery trying to reset the immobiliser phoned and auto locksmith they came out and discovered the end of the key with the blade had lost it's coding and the immobiliser was not disarming, they reprogrammed the key and the car started no problem. As far as i know there is no way past the immobiliser. Hope this helps.
