Question about 2005 GMC Yukon

1 Answer

I have a 2005 Yukon and a 1946 jeep that i tow. the problem that i am having is that when plugged together the turn signals both flash at the same time. Each vehicles work fine when not plugged together. I even disconnected the jeeps battery to see if that made a difference, which it did not. Any ideas on what to check next?

Stupid solution, use a separate towin light system like tow trucks use, save you a headache

I can do what you are saying. I tow the jeep hunting several times per year and prefer not to have to hassle with the tow truck type lights. It has all worked in the passed.

all kidding aside, i think you are having a ground problem, could be on either vehicle, cause you know the live circuits are ok

Thanks for the help. I have been thinking my problem might be ground problem. I will try a hard ground between the two vehicles, rather than only grounding through the hitch. I also plan on double checking the fuses on the Yukon. It seems like I had a Tahoe with a similar problem a few years ago and there was one fuse under the dashboard and a second fuse under the hood. I think previously only the fuse under the hood was blown.

HOW TO TOW MY 4X4 JEEP WITH MY PICK-UP TRUCK? WHAT TO DO WITH GEARS?

Hello! Please tow with the front of Jeep at the Pick-up bumper (reverse) Your odometer will not turn (no miles registered for the tow) also, the brake lights should be wired together so you have brake lights on the towed vehicle.Or buy the kit. Put the Jeep in neutral. Chain the front suspension of Jeep so you only have 15-20 degrees movement. Chain the cars together with two different sets of chains- one to the tow hook and one frame to frame. Put a sign and red rag on rear of Jeep. This is a safe tow.

The circuit board needs to be replaced. Which is the board that the bulbs sit in. If you remove the turn signal bulb. You will notice the bulb socket will be slightly burnt inside. I had the same problem with my 99 Denali and replaced the circuit board for $35.00. Now everything is fine.

2005 Dakota lost turn signal, brake and hazzard lights in the rear. Fuses and bulbs appear to be good. Any ideas?

One of the wiring harness is not contacting. Start at the steering column and trace all the connections. If you have a tow package, check the splice to the tow plug also.

I tow my 2005 Jeep Wrangler behind my motor home. I installed a Jeep trailer towing wiring kit to the rear lights. the bought a long trailer wiring kit and ran it from the front of the Jeep to the Jeep tralier wire plug. Pluged it in and pluged the other end into the motor home trailer light recptacle. I used only four wires plus ground. There is probably a way you could tap into the wiring harnes under the hood but not having a wiring diagram this is the best I could come up with and all lights do work. You can buy a test plug with led lights that plugs in both male and female, real handy for checking connections.

Did you check the brake and signal light bulbs? If something happened that blew a fuse, chances are you probably lost some bulbs too. that should fix your problem

Turn signals 2003 Ford F-150

Sounds like the turn blinker is shorted internally. Suggest you change it out, to test this.

My next check is that no wiring is melted and burned, such as can happen with any connection to tow a trailer. U-Haul has fine print that indemnify them of any problems they cause! have you towed anything recently?
