SOURCE: Cruise control stopped working

if the fuses are ok then i would say that there is a distruption between the cruise module vehicle speed sensor and the computer(ECM). unfortunately this is something only a qualified tech with diagnostic equipment can correct. i'm sure there are stored fault codes that the tech needs to check and reset. it's been my experience that oftyen times when this problem happens it has to do with the transmission control module which dictates how the engine and the transmission sync up to shift properly and your speed is measured through the transmission circuit thus the cruise control circuit is slaved to that.anymore questions feel free to contact me . just click my user tab on this site

No. Most likely it is the blower module. It is on the passenger's side lower part of the dash panel.

2003 Chevy Impala w/dual zone heat /AC stopped blowing on speed 5. Worked fine on speeds 1 thru 4 for about 4 weeks then stopped working on all speeds.

Likely the blower motor resistor. located right next to the blower motor, this device is resposible for reducing the voltage suplied to the motor. when it fails you may loose some or all speeds of the motor

Speed meter don't work

Speed sensor is located in the wheel hub, drivers side. Remove that wheel, and make sure that the sensor line isnt wore thru. Its the ONLY componant screwed into the hub. really inexpensive and easy to replace.

I have a 2000 grand cherokee. my speedodometer just quit. does it run off fuse

There is a problem either with your Output Vehicle Speed Sensor or the Electrical Connection of this Sensor. It is located on the Transmission.
Depending on whether you have a 4.0L or 4.7L will determine where on the Transmission it is located.
After knowing what size engine: go to and look-up what the Vehicle Speed Sensor looks like before looking for it on your vehicle.
Jack-up and properly support the front of the vehicle using jack stands.
Check the electrical connection. Unplug it and check for corrosion or oxidation (white stuff). Clean, replug and recheck operations.
If this does not fix the problem:
Unplug and Remove this Sensor. Clean off the interior end of the sensor. Reinstall, replug and recheck operation.
If this does not fix the problem:
Remove this Sensor. Take it with you to the auto parts store and compare it to the new one you are purchasing to make sure you are getting the right part.
I took the liberty to look up the Parts, Availability and Pricing. I do not work for any of these stores/companies.

Output Vehicle Speed Sensors:
For the 4.0L
Advance Auto Part #S8023 for around $19.
Autozone Part #SU1018 for around $17.
O'reilly Part #S8023 for around $19.
Note: these are for the 42REE, 44RE or A50DEC Transmissions.
For the 4.7L
Not available on either Advance Auto or O'reilly Auto web sites.
Autozone Part #SU3156 for around $50.

Do i need a vehicle speed sensor if the speedometer doesnt work

The speedometer uses a the signal from the speed sensor on the drivers side of the transmission near the tail shaft. The sensor is held in with a retaining bolt and pulls out after removing the bolt.
