Hi! One thing to consider if there is no spark. Please do check the distributor coil. If the distributor coil is faulty the result will surely no spark to the plugs. Please be sure that the distributor cap and plug wires are good too. Hope this helps and thank you for using FIxYa!

You need several things to make your car run, spark, fuel, compression and all at the right time... ie TDC (Top Dead Center). If all are working, then the car will run. So one is not right and you say it has fire? I assume you mean spark. Check if the compression is ok and all cylinders are 100 psi or approx., then it must be fuel.

Check if you are getting fuel pressure. With a tester at the rail the pressure will be 45psi approx.; if you are getting no pressure then look at the pump and relay. Let us know what you find.

The ignition module is what turns the coil on and off. This is the
little box fastened on the side on the distributor. Change this and
    your truck should run.

I suggest removing the spout connector, (a 2-pin plug in connector in
the harness near the distributor) and check for spark, or signal on the
coil negative. Make sure you are checking on the coil negative. If you
are not sure, unplug the coil and see which wire is positive when the
key is on. If you have spark with the spout disconnected, then the
computer is not doing its part...check the fuses and make sure the check
engine light is working properly. If the spout disconnect makes no
difference, then make sure the distributor is properly grounded. Also,
make sure you have power on both sides of the coil when the key is on
    and everything is connected.

Check and see do lights come on when not running. Most likely a dead battery, but jump it and it goes. Bad alternator not charging battery. No power, no go.

I have a 91 has the 2.3 ran fine then stopped one day when iwas leavin the house...i havent been able to get it to start unless...i spray starting fluid into the intake...ive changed...

i dont think you car wants to leave your house.... maybe your injectors are bad, if the chamber is getting too much fuel you could be flooding it, and if that gas gets past your rings you have bigger problems

Firing sequence on a 92 ford ranger 2.3l

The firing order is 1 - 4- 3- 2. I would suggest visiting the website and register the truck info. It is free and you will have access to an online repair manual for the truck. Information like this is available there and it's a handy resource for anyone doing maintenance on their own vehicle. Anyway, hope this helped and best wishes.
