Without seeing it and having a play with my hands under the bonnet ,as you will appreciate its difficult to diagnose but i would check teh vacumn pipes around the inlet manifold in case you have inadvertantly knocked one off

Is a chain in side the motor?

The four cylinder engine uses a timing belt. The V6 uses a timing chain. The timing BELT is on the outside of the engine and the timing CHAIN is on the inside of the engine.

How to adjust a tensioner on a 2001 chrysler voyager

You mean your belt tentioner, serpentine belt, it is not adjustable if your belt is coming off you have a bad tentioner, bad pulley or your power stering pump is leaken and your belt is soaked, if oilly firts found your leak (most common is a hose from reservoir to pump) then replace belt with a cheap belt (had lost of trouble with Life time or hi dollar belts), in the mean time also inspect your tentioner if ani play side ways replace it, also remove idle pulley and spun it close to your ear, if any noise replace it, you may get away with a single item changed, but for trouble free time, replace all items: belt tentioner ($38) idle pulley($25) serpentine belt ($25)

The belt may be worn to much as in streching. The noise that u hear may be from the idler which keeps the tension.

Want to know if it is a timing belt or timing chain that is required for a 2002 chrysler voyager

It's a belt. Cost is about 800 to replace belt, water pump and front main seal. You'll want to have the water pump and front main seal done while they r in there, will save headache later. Timing belt runs the water pump so if 1 goes, then so does the other.

2002 chrysler voyager overheating ..intermittent

Dude!
Thermostat is in a metal housing at the end of the radiator hose where it connects to the engine.

The housing is held down by two bolts.
Remove the bolts, remove the thermostat and scrape the gasket and sealant from the housing and the manifold.

When replacing, use Permatex #2 - non-hardening gasket sealant.

2002 chrylser voyager timing belt and water pumped

Is the tech talking about bent valves or other damage from overheat? If the concern is valves, he can do a cylinder leakdown test (not a compression test) to see if valves are sealing properly, without any further teardown. Damage from overheat, if blown head gasket etc will also show up during that test.
