1996 Accord EX with new battery, everything works great except: Won't start, all electrical comes on but I just hear a 'click' everytime the ignition is turned. Sometimes if I keep trying it will start. Friend says it might be the starter. If it is the starter (first question) Can this starter be rebuilt with new brushes?

Yes it is the starter, and yes it can be rebuilt. compare the cost of having it rebuilt to a remanned one. some times it is better to go reman for the warranty.

*Before check the following, make sure battery is full of charge.
1. No thing at all. Possible Corrosion battery cable or bad connector or starter relay. (Visual Inspect it) Clean it or tight it

1995 geo tracker won't start. I've replaced everything except the ignition switch. It used to click when i turn the key, now it won't even click.

DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY AND RECONNECT, THIS SHOULD RESET THE BRAIN.

ALSO...WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY, LISTEN TO HEAR IF YOU CAN HEAR THE FUEL PUMP COME ON...IF NOT, GUESS WHAT? HOPEFULLY NOT!... BUT,YOU MAY NEED TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP, IF YOU CAN'T HEAR IT WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY, AFTER YOU'VE RESET THE BATTERY!

HOPE THIS HELPS!

I have a 1996 Honda Accord LX 5 speed manual trans. The car had some battery trouble, and when I went to get it charged; the tech said that it was so low he didn't think it would work. I came back, and to...

Probably your battery is too far gone and does not hold a charge. The clicking you hear is the starter relay. Get a new battery. $55 at Costco.

1996 Honda Accord cranks and starts sometimes. It

It is the fuel pump relay and I replaced mine on my 1988 accord. That one was above the kick panel on the drivers side about a foot and a half up. not easy to get to. Having the new one helped identify the old one. Now an 88 is 8 years from a 96 and I can't tell you exactly where yours is but mine did that too and the new one fixed it. I took the old one apart and you could see the bad contacts. HTH PS Laid off too.

Horn stopped working.

if u hear a click that is the realy, so it would not be the problem, most likely the horn is burned out.

Electrical problems with my 96 honda accord

This happens because the removal of the current to the computer or CPU gets de-programed. You may be able to solve the problem (if it comes up gain ) by disconnecting the negative cable with the engine off. Then renstalling it back after a minute. This will reprogram the computer.

HI..
If you check the connection of the battery .
if you hear a cliking noise. and lights inside weak.
Is mean the battery is descharged or not good.
Try giving jumpstart cables. or with other battery.
Really I guess is a battery problem.
If the vehicle start. check if the Alternator is Charging.
